Mike recently posted on the FortMinor.com message boards about a freestyle he did with DJ Whoo Kid that may be released on the DJ's new mixtape.

"there are probably some things floating around, but i don't know what they would be called. i never put song names on stuff like that. just this week, did a freestyle that might end up on the next whoo kid mixtape--it features rappers from the west coast (!!!)"

For those of you who don't know, DJ Whoo Kid is the DJ for 50 Cent and G-Unit and has his own hip-hop radio show on Eminem's Sirius Radio channel, "Shade 45".

Thanks to Kevin for pointing this out!

Shade 45 is Eminem's station. G-Unit Radio is DJ Whoo Kid's show on Shade 45.

I just hope this is an actual freestyle. We all know that the rhymes he did on Wake Up Show were prewritten.

Part 1 was dedicated, and he even admitted that the 'sandman' verse (part 2) was written years before they got a contract.

I just hope this one was really off of the top of his head, cause if it's good it'll show that he really can make it as a rapper.

That could've been real, but its also not as strong as his other stuff, if you get my drift. So it's a bummer.

But I aint gonna knock the guy till I hear this track.

True. If it's not as strong as what you hear written then you can tell it's more of a freestyle. Mike really has to freestyle on the DJ Vice beat, but the Wake Up show it was a no beat type thing, so it easier for written stuff.

Mike elaboarted in that thread that there's a difference between radio/cd freestyling and street freestyling. Radio freestyling often includes pre-written lyrics with some random stuff off the top of your head thrown in. Street freestyling is pure improvisation.

It really depends. Any freestyle always include 2-10 lines of prewritten stuff, stuck in your head. Some of it intentionally, some not. Intentionally would be fillers, and such. I don't agree with Mike on that, it's really on the emcee. If it's like a underground rapper, any freestyle is gonna probably be a real freestyle, now rappers like Jay-Z will only do prewritten so called "freestyle." It's also if there's a beat or not. Without a beat anything with similar amount of syllables will almost always flow, but with a beat it really has to go with the beat.

There's a great news feature on MTV.com called 'Mixtape Monday'. Every week, there's a new article on, you guessed it, Monday. According to the second newest article (released on June 13th), Whoo Kid released a mixtape called 'Hell Up In Hollywood' two weeks ago. If the freestyle shows up on Whoo Kid's mixtape, it'll probably hit the streets within the next two weeks.
On mixtape Monday, they go over their favourite mixtape in detail; other notable mixtapes released that week are just listed.
