I'm a huge fan of the series. My favourite is probably still the original on the PSOne, closely followed by the third. I can't wait for the fourth, hopefully it will be just as big of a leap to MGS3 as MGS2 was to MGS1. MGS3 Subsistence is also looking good.
i love MGS , i think it is one of the greatest games of all time , my favorite is the first one , because of the story line , overall i thought it was exelent.
Yeah, SOL had way too many over the top villains in there, also playing as Raiden didn't help. The Tanker chapter was the best part about that game.
I played Metal Gear Solid 3:Snake Eater while it was still in development and I thought it was pretty damn cool.I bought it and my opinion of the game changed completly,I really don't like it.
My favourite is Twin Snakes, pretty much because the first time I played the original I was absolute crap at stealth but the extra functions in TS made it a lot easier for me. But now of course I can actually play the original on a setting higher than easy and still do pretty well.
Yeah, the only problem i had with Twin Snakes was the Gamecube controller, i found it hard to control using that pad being as i was used to the PS controller. If Twin Snakes came out on the PS2, it would have probably beat the original.
lol, Everyone hates Raiden, i don't think it's because he's that bad of a character, it's just because everyone love's and wants to play as Snake?!
What don't you like about it?
The graphics, beleive it or not, were better when the game was still in development Plus the gameplay isn't similar to that of the pre-productionised game

Well, the game must have been amazing when it was in development.
It really was, they had to tone down everything though because the game is exceptionaly huge. The creators had a joke going where the ending involved snake and a military dude kissing, obviously the cut that from the game

I think they cut out an area with the giant genome soldier from Special Missions too.
Raiden was too much of a 'young-blood' in my opinion. Too much of a light-hearted, patriotic, naive and innocent character. Everyone loves the grizzled, mysterious ,single minded deep thinker of Snake over this new character. The only reason i liked Raiden was because it put a rather interesting twist in the plot.
I didn't like Raiden much over-all. When i got MGS3 and selected the option 'I have completed the other Metal gear games' and Snake was wearing the Raiden mask i nearly switched my PS2 off.
