Has anyone seen the latest R. Kelly video(s), "Trapped in the Closet"? In case you haven't, here's what it's all about: "Trapped in the Closet" is a masterful marketing move, the elaborate story-song was released to radio and on Kelly's Web site in installments, building suspense as listeners wondered what would happen next in the 16-minute soap opera, which he has described as "a ghetto 'Desperate Housewives.' " Over a minimal musical backing, Kelly tells the story of six characters caught in a web of adulterous affairs, singing each role himself. In part one, the main character, who is never named, wakes up in bed with Kathy, a woman who isn't his wife. He tries to leave, but Kathy's husband comes up the stairs, so he winds up hiding in the closet. The central character is discovered when his cell phone rings, and he threatens Kathy's husband, a minister named Rufus, by pulling a pistol. At the moment when it seems as if violence is inevitable, Rufus drops that bombshell that he has been cheating as well -- and his homosexual lover, a man named Chuck, arrives at the door. The narrator leaves Rufus, Kathy and Chuck to sort things out. On the way home, he is stopped for speeding. When he finally arrives, he makes love to his own wife, but he discovers a condom in their bed. Part five ends when the narrator learns that his wife has been cheating on him, too -- with the police officer who stopped him earlier. If you've seen the parts, what is your opinion? I have only seen parts 1, 2, and 3. What shocked me was when I saw that Rufus was cheating on his wife with another man. I didn't see that one coming.
He certainly likes to repeat himself. He looks under the bed... the bed... He opens the dresser... dresser... He looks at the closet... the closet He walks towards the closet... closet lol. and the vibraaaaaaaatttte line cracks me up. I've only seen parts 1 + 2. I want to see the other parts.
lmao , i hate story - songs .. and the name of the song makes it even funnier.. trapped in a closet , lol. bet thats what he did with the girl after he raped her.. trapped her in the closet
the first time i heard that song my brother made me listen to it. then i saw it was like 16 minutes long or whetever, so i was like fuck that. then i saw the basic summary on best week ever, so i know what happens. then my brother was watching some of it and i saw a bit, then my mom came and turned of the television because she was mad. and yeah, he likes repeating himself its like a fucking soap opra though
I saw video one on vh1 and I really wanted to see part two. Then I watched it on launch then just got bored with it.
I've seen parts one through 5. Really great... when I first heard it on the radio I only heard part 4 and I thought it was fucked up. But after watching the whole thing... DAAAAMN.
I liked it, but it could have been better. It's definitely a nice twist in music, you never really see creativity like that in music these days. I think the story could have been a bit better, though. It felt like it had this "I punched you because someone else punched me" effect... Or it was the same situation with different characters. The story is messed up, though... I'd hate to be in that type of situation...
I watched all of it. I would never listen to the song my itself but there were some very interesting twists in the story. The funniest part was... he's coming towards the closet...he's opening the closet....He's coming towards the closet... he opening the closet...ECT. It says in the credits and Kelly's name is Sylvester in the story. lol I just thought that I would share that
I have just seen the 1st chapter,"he said yes,he said no,yes,no,yes!" lmao well, honestly,i got into that chapter.
isnt it he says yes, i say no, he says yes, i say no, he says something something. i just remember the little scene and he was saying no back and forth with some other guy but yeah, that parts funny.
Seen all 5. He gets owned in the end. He's working on Chapters 6-10 right now. Chapter 6 is actually out (the audio).
I just watched parts 1-5. It's different. The whole narrative thing was unique, but it wans't necessarily done well. Part 4 is horrible. From the crappy car driving sequence to the shitty sex lyrics. I'll give him a B+ for being different.
I really like this idea that R. Kelly is doing. I just saw episodes 1-5 and I'm wondering whats going to happen! Intense stuff.
Hm, part 6. Now you have me searching google.. He says yes, I say no, he says yes, I say no, he says yes, I say no...
