What was the genre of the song of the year at your school? This doesn't apply to what you think was the favourite song of the year.
Vote, and list the song that you felt was the most popular.
I'm just being really general with the genres. Metal, hard rock, punk, emo, etc. would all go under 'rock'.

    What song?

I'd say the most popular song(s) at my school this year would be 'Drop It Like It's Hot' by Snoop Dogg & Pharell. That song is infectious.

Fucking chavs and their hip hop, lol. Not that I have anything against hip pop, just the type of people that listen to it.

Mostly classic rock. Followed closely by rap.

I'd say... 'Drop It Like It's Hot' by Pharrell and Snoop Dogg. Pretty good song if I say so myself.
A lot of my closer friends really dig Trivium and Mastodon's most recent albums, though.

Exactly! I don't listen to much Hip-Hop but I do respect it but for the majority of people who listen to it in my school who go around thinking they're hard I just fucking hate them.

Its kinda 50-50 in my school between rock and rap.

    Hip Hop & Rap.

Actually, at the end of the school year, my school had a poll to see what song was the anthem of the year.

    Ciara's "1, 2, Step" won it.

Half my school is into Hip Hop/Rap, and the other half is into rock.

As far as my school goes, it's pretty much all leaning towards the genre in which 416,523 'hard/emo/scream/grind-core' bands come out every day.

Other than that, it's rap/hip-hop. No real metal, or anything else. Well, AC/DC and Led Zeppelin were also real popular, but I think that's just a fad because Wal-Mart had their T-Shirts so cheap that everyone could purchase one.

I believe the song that ended up winning the graduation theme or whatever was Incubus' Drive.

Oh. Ohh. Yeah. I completely screwed this up. The song that was probably most popular was either Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven or Hawthorne Height's Ohio Is For Lovers.

And I forgot to add all the posers pretending to like AC/DC. Overall, aside from American Idiot, it was probably Candy Shop.

My School is really into country music. Almost EVERYONE hunts and listens to their country anthems. Only about 5 people really like rock. I for one don't enjoy country music but hear it A LOT. My school loves to brag about how redneck country they are.

Simple Plan. *shudders* And pop. The guys in my class never fail to chant 'Incomplete' everyday. O.O

I sometimes find it hard to talk about music in school because (at least, as far as I know) no one really listens to the music I listen to.
