Just want to know who you think is the most talented vocalist(if you think it's Chester, pick your second favorite instead because this is the other music forum.) I think the most talented vocalist is Maynard James Keenen from Tool and A Perfect Circle. His voice is amazing. I honestly get chills down my spine when listening to songs like Passive, Passenger, Pet, and Imagine because his voice just sounds so freakin creepy and awesome. I would kill to have a voice like his.
Daryl Palumbo. This guy has been in Glassjaw (a hardcore band), Head Automatica (A modern disco-esque band), Shoot Frank (with co-vocalist who is a poet/rapper), and he helped start Cardboard City. He's probably one of the most versatile vocalists in the music industry but unfortunately he cant tour that much because he has Crohn's Disease which he contracted when he was 15.
Hasn't this thread been done before? Maynard from Tool Farrel from Jane's Addiction Reznor from NIN Bixler Zavala from Mars Volta
Thats tough, but I'd say Daniel Gildenlow (of Pain of Salvation) or Russell Allen (of Symphony X). Both have incredible ranges, and while Russell Allen's has the edge in power and intensity as a metal singer, Daniel Gildenlow can assume so many voices and bring out so many emotions with his voice its amazing. Opeth frontman Mikael Akerfeldt would be a close third in my books. Maynards a good choice though too!
Bjork. After listening to "Mother Ocean" I was practically on my knees, wondering why I ever thought I could sing. She does some amazing things with her voice.
Chris Cornell (Soundgarden/Audioslave) Scott Weiland (Stone Temple Pilots/Velvet Revolver) Mike Patton ( Mr. Bungle/Faith No More/Plenty of other 'side-projects') Greg Puciato (The Dillinger Escape Plan) Chino Moreno (Deftones) Also, because nobody seems to have mentioned any rappers, I'll say Black Thought (The Roots) off the top of my head.
Well then, I'll mention Mos Def and Talib Kweli. And I think Scooter Ward from Cold also deserves to be on this list.
Maynard James Keenan (APC, Tool) Billy Corgan (The smashing pumpkins, Zwan) Trent Reznor (NIN) Bono Vox (U2) Damien Rice Sandra Nasic (Guano Apes) Edward Kowalczyk (Live)
In no order: Alex Varkatzas/Brandon Saller (Aretyu) Brandon Boyd (Incubus) Brock Lyndow (36 Crazyfits) Chad Gray (Mudvayne) Chino Moreno (Deftones) Corey Taylor (Slipknot) Davey Havok (A.F.I) Mathew Tuck (Bullet for my valentine) Maynard James Keenan (Tool) M. Shadows (Avenged Sevenfold) Nate Barcalow (Finch)
Tori Amos, Freddie Murcury, Reznor, Amanda Palmer, Corin Tucker I'm also really fond of Jesse Michaels voice (in his post-OpIvy years) but it's technically not that good...
Axl Rose (Guns N' Roses) Matt Heafy (Trivium) Howard Jones (Killswitch Engage) Corey Taylor (Slipknot/Stone Sour) Amy Lee (Evanescence) Jonathan Davis (KoRn) Jacoby Shaddix (Papa Roach) James Hetfield (Metallica) Serj Tankian (System Of A Down Fred Durst (Limp Bizkit) Chad Kroeger (Nickleback) Billie Joe Armstrong (Green Day) Dani Filth (Cradle Of Filth) Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters)
Chris Cornell (Audioslave/Soundgarden) Howard Jones (Killswitch Engage) Matt Heafy (Trivium) Deron Miller (CKY)
