    Ok here's the situation...
I'm on a lower level of obsession about LP (i bought the Inside Meteora book and put it in a sealed bag where it cant get destroyed....) and for as obsessive about them as I am, my friend is 100X more crazy about SOAD

well, whenever i mention LP he calls them "Wussy metal" and all sorts of other things...well i think if i can find pics from watever concert they opened for SOAD i can get him to shut up

if anyone knows anything about this concert...id appreciate the info

I can't really imagine this...I can see SOAD opening for LP but not the other way around...bands would never use bands more successful than themselves as support at a concert.

Although having said that James Brown opened for Red Hot Chili Peppers

I would. They play bigger shows. Sell WAY more records, I believe. How much did Mezmerize sell? I'm sure it went Platinum but I didn't hear anything about it.

    Yeah they are.

Though SOAD's music is better, Linkin Park is the one that would sell the most.

    Its how it works nowadays.

At one point in their career, I would say System Of A Down did eclipse Linkin Park. Even if it was for a brief moment, they did. All the kids loved SOAD when Chop Suey! came out. I remember football players talking about SOAD.

They were more popular than Linkin Park at a time, but it wasn't for long. If you blinked your eyes, you probably missed it.

Well, it would explain why SOAD are mentioned in the thanks section of Meteora's liner notes.

LP opened for SOAD at a club called The Whiskey in 1997 when they were known as Xero. I remember seeing a promotional poster for the show on an LP fansite and Xero was one of the opening bands with SOAD headlining. However it was before either band was famous, it was before either had released a major album.

Even though I think that System of a Down has horrible music, I'm going to have to disagree with you, because Linkin Park's music is much, much worse.
