I just thought it'd be interesting to see the styles of music that everyones' families listen to. Personally, this is how it is for me. Father: Southern Rock, Classic Rock, etc. (The Allman Brothers Band; Jackson Browne; Traffic; Van Halen.) Mother: Popular Country (Whatever's on the radio) and strange party/techno songs. (The type of songs that they play at sporting events.) Brother: Whatever's popular at the moment.
Mom: 60's, 70's and 80's and some classical music. Dad: Nothing...because 'everything is so loud' <.< Bro: U2, Coldplay, etc etc Sis1: She likes almost everything. Sis2: Gospel and some soft rock like Maroon 5 and such Sis3: Same taste in music as me.
My father listens to metal and classic rock... Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin, Def Leppard and the like. Same with my uncles, and my brother just listens to whatever's going strong in the charts. My mother is really big on britpop, hahaha. Not just the good stuff like Blur and Pulp, no, she listens to pretty much everything that way inclined. Older 'punk', too. I think the only music she listens to from this millenium is Franz Ferdinand and Coldplay, but then I guess that isn't so bad when it's been less than five years.
Dad; Pink Floyd, ACDC, Mostly classic rock. Mum; Mostly Radio but has listened to bands like Linkin Park & Alter Bridge. Younger Brother; Adema, Cold, Mudvayne, Mostly Metal & Rock. Older Brother; Mostly Rap, but his favourite artists ever is Disturbed.
Dad: All Oldies, Deep Purple, Bob Segar and rock like that Mom: Mostly Country, but likes a LOT of songs me and my bro like, we actually almost got killed when she almost ran through a red light while me, her and my brother were headbanging to Nickelback's "Because of You", the part in the beginning, i'm pretty sure if you listen, you'll realize which part is the "headbanging part" lol My Younger Brother(17): anything I introduce him to, favorite band is Crossfade and My Chemical Romance
My mom like's UB40 and Enya,my brother is into rap (Wu-tang clan,Grave digarz, etc)and I don't know what my father listens to cause I really don't talk to him.
Dad;; Anything and everything. Mom;; Kelly Clarkson, Madonna... Older Younger Brother;; Linkin Park Youngest Brother;; It's hard to say... :wth:
Father - Country, classic rock (Rush, Eagles, Styx, Pink Floyd) Mother - Anything really, mostly "disco" even though she was never around during the "disco age" Older Brother - Any kind of popular rock, Foo Fighters, Linkin Park, The Offspring, Green Day, Blink 182 Little Brother - Right now he's shadowing my music taste, but he still listens to some stuff like Slipknot, Dope, Linkin Park, I guess what we'd consider "MTV metal"
Dad: Classic 60s/70s/80s, and country (ugh) Mom: Gospel music, mostly, and country again (double ugh) Brother: Nothing but rap, artists like 50 Cent and Lil' Jon (triple ugh) And then there's me, I listen to hardcore rock and metal
Well, my parents are similar. They both like what I listen to. My dad really likes oldies rock [bands like Pink Floyd], and since my parents are from Serbia/Bosnia, they like those bands too [not saying that I do, but I can tolerate them].
Mother: American Idol Garbage (Constantine, Kelly), Gospel, Country Father: Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Eagles, Eric Clapton, Kid Rock, 3 Doors Down I obviously connect more with my dad when it comes to music, but we don't talk much about anything.
dad: rock mum: rock sis: rock me: well with everyone else in my family listening to rock, i like ROCK, favourite band slipknot
Sometimes I wish the word 'rock' never existed. There's too many things that are considered "rock." I mean, I don't know how you can put Lamb of God and The Beatles into the same genre. Honestly. Please try and be more specific, everybody.
Lamb Of God is not rock, my dear boy. [/b][/quote] Fine. I was thinking about metal being a division of rock. But still, Casey's proving me wrong doesn't diminish the impact of my statement.
Mum: Doesn't really listen to much music. Dad: Deep purple, pink floyd, dire straits, status quo, the beatles and basicly classic rock Bro: Basicly follows my dad's taste in music. he worships queen though. that's basicly all i ever hear him playing. though have heard some muse, the killers, red hot chilli peppars and stuff like that.
Everything. It's kind of scary. Especially my dad. He'll listen to oldies rock and turn the station and listen to Snoop Dogg.
