Better Trilogy?

My vote is for Star Wars even though Peter Jackson did a great job with the LOTR. He left out too much of the books in my opinion.

 

I'm voting for Lord Of The Rings. I've never really been a fan of Star Wars. I thought Lord Of The Rings was a more artistic and beautiful film, which is something I really appreciate. I'm not a real big fan of either trilogy, but I do think Lord of the Rings is better. I like Star Wars too, but not as much.

here we go again...put more choics...cause for one...Star Wars is a SAGA....i had to get into this in another forum before....and yes I know that Star Wars is set up in 2 trilogy sets....but still, it's a Saga. Let's make another topic with more choices, that way it'll be more fun.

 

Star wars isn't a trilogy and even if it was I'd still pick Lord of the rings.

First of all notice the wording "Original Trilogy" (meaning #'s IV, V & VI) so yes it is a trilogy.
Second the Prequels sucked Ass compaired to the original 3 so I didn't even bother putting them in.
Third if you really want to make another topic go for it these are just the two I cared about.

Anyways...it really depends..

Artistically and Consistancy-wise...I would go with Lord of the Rings.....
That movie is near flawless.

However...Entertainment wise....Star Wars.

Its fun to sit down and watch all three with your buddies without wasting a whole day....While the LOTR is super though to watch in one setting (espically the extended versions)

Of course...the 'New' Star Wars Trilogy kind of ruins the whole Star Wars theme for me...

So I guess I would have to lean towards LOTR

 

Ya I'm sick today and even with nothing else to do I was unable to watch all of them. There just so long that even though there great I got board and couldn't bring myself to watch the last one.

 

LOTR. Story wise, I think both are great. Both trilogies had awesome war scenes, but somehow I like less mecha and more traditional weapons and stuff.

 

LotR. Both of them have gorgeous fight scenes, and character layouts, and the actors are good, too. But I'd have to lean towards Lord of the Rings, because, well... robots and machinery have less appeal than natural scenery, actual weapons, and the pure blood and gore in the battle scenes.

 

The original Star Was trilogy, especially the remastered versions. LotR was a bore.

 

Star Wars. How can u even say LotR?
Star Wars will last forever. The LotR movies were a huge fad.
Star Wars had an affect on culture like nothing else.
SW OT owns all trilogies. period.

 

i think lord of the rings was a far better trilogy (even though i still like star wars!)

the films were beautifuly shot, great characters and peter jackson couldn't have done a better job in adabting book to film.

 

its like comparing apples and oranges, you either favor both, one or none at all.

Star Wars was originally supposed to be a trilogy of trilogies, so it is a SAGA, and not really a trilogy. A trilogy is one complete story told in three installments. Star Wars was originally supposed to be told in 9 stories and is therefore not a trilogy.

 

The Lord of the Rings is a better trilogy. It's far more artistic and beautiful and has a much better storyline. The amount of backstory just makes it that much more amazing.
