    Hey you guyzzz!!!

First: I'm ew here! And I've got a question, I have to be answered!!!!!!

on one of those LP messege boards, I've read, that all the Lp guyz (especially Chester) are always drunken, and that they all smoke much...= they've got experience with some kind of drugs...
well, I allways thaught, that LP is highly against drugs!!! even alcohol!

    is that true???
here a extract of something i found:

Perhaps the lessons of watching Morrison, Hendrix, Joplin, Moon and Cobain slowly slip away in front of our eyes, coupled with the pain of their loss have finally been realised. Bands like Linkin Park have an alcohol and drugs ban for their entire road crew and anyone found breaking this rule is instantly dismissed. Ten years ago they would have been laughed at but now they are applauded by fans who at least now that when they turn up for concert, Chester Bennington will be able to sing and stand up.!

    Is that really true???
LP are one of those band, who are highly against all kinds of drugs..., aren't they???

Please help me, I have to know the thruth!

Eh, not really..I don't know where you've heard that. Chester is an admitted smoker and drinker, and Mike once showed up drunk to a Kerrang awards post-show part but otherwise no.

As far as I know, besides Chester..none of the members are really into drugs or alcohol. They try to keep that out of their 'working environment'.

Welcome to the boards as well, please take some time to read the rules in Newbie Camp :).

oh yeah...if you've seen the Cribs episode with Chester than you should know that he drinks.

For the other members, who knows.

I always wondered if Joe drank because everytime you see him he looks different.

    oh well....

I doubt they're any different than any other rock band on this issue. In an interview Chester said "I've been down that road and it's not that great. But if you want to be a junkie, be a junkie, I'm not telling you what to do".

And didn't LP once headline Cypress Hill's pro-marijuana festival?

yeah! that's why i wondered because of the extract from a side i've copied here (see first post)...

and all at all: there is a (i guess german magazine) called "hanf"... the made an interview with lp, and there, joeseph hahn and chester (!) said:

"what'S that for a name for a magazine??? do u want to leaglieze drugs??? if it's like that, you're no allowed to interview us!!"
for sure, "hanf" isn't about drugs but i don't like this magazine all at all)....
but doesn't that show us, that lp are aigainst drugs???

    PS:
"And didn't LP once headline Cypress Hill's pro-marijuana festival? "

i'm a cypress hill fan, but what the fuck is that???
thank u all! this is the best lp forum at all! i was on many boards, but nowhere, the useres where so nice :D ;D

Um... no. LP are against drugs or alcohol before shows because they don't want it to fuck up the show for the fans.

But as far as the no drug policy goes, isn't that only for themselves? I mean, do you really think they care about other people taking drugs? A lot of band members are good friends with artists who take drugs.

My personal opinion on drugs is that I don't condone their use, but if people want to harm themselves that's their own business. I'm not a nazi about it.

It's Linkin Park, not some hippie on the streets. we kinda want the band members to LIVE, rather than see them gone

I heard that Chester used to be a heavy drinker and did drugs and all that. But he went through rehab and stopped.

He stopped taking drugs but he still smokes and he drinks... And if you read the FTI book carefully than you'll read that Mike drinks too and that he once threw up in Japan on the street or something like that *LOL*. But I think everything's on a normal basis... They aren't alcoholics, they don't take hard drugs and it's true that there is a smoking and alcohol ban in their bus. But that doesn't mean that they are not allowed to smoke and drink, they can do it in bars or in the wardrobe, or maybe in the venue where they're playing. This ban is just for the bus.

No... we just don't want them to have a good time while touring.

We're supposed to have the good time, not them, damnit!

Exactly. I bet every member has tried pot and/or some other kind of drug in their lifetime.

-Chester faced cocaine addiction as a teenager.

I gurantee almost everyone on this board has tried pot or some sort of drug. Or at least thought about it.
