    People still don't understand that this was NOT based from the old movie. It was based from the original book, which the old movie was nothing like. Don't compare it to the older one, because it's not meant to be.

    Exactimundo. One example is that the "bad nut" scene was based on the book, or else it would be a "bad egg" scene. But I honestly think it would be intersting to have a movie where Charlie owned the factory, a scenario in which Wonka promised.

    I loved the movie. it was amazing, beutiful, and wonderfully put together.


    and yes, the Umpa-Loompas are supposed to be island looking.
    and the song in the first movie is the song in the first movie! the new movie actually had the creator of Willy Wonka write the lyrics! they were clever and exactly what the author wanted.


    overall: Fantastic movie.

    I liked the movie but it had some part that I thought where a little bit exagerated

    ggod movie...not lasting long but a great job by depp. he's an amazing actor and as an aspiring actor, i thing he stands firm as my role model. he's done all the most toughest roles and done 'em well. his best i feel to be "Edward Scissorhands"

    Quite right in saying that the two films shouldnt be compared.
    Depp just keeps taking the world by storm....cant wait for DEAD MANS CHEST!!!!! (w00t)
