"Petrified" To Be Debut Single

The production on this song really is top notch. It sounds like something by Dan Nakamura or The Bomb Squad.

The line: "I like what I do, I do what I like, I could quit and get it back like I'm riding a bike", seems a bit basic to me... :chemist:

 

Yeah I think so to. That's the problem with the song. It's not good. It's catchy and has a killer beat but it's still NOT good by (my) hip-hop standards. In terms of saying something RTN is much better. It's definitely more of a "single" song but if you gave me the instrumental I would be just as happy, if not happier, than if I had the regular version.

 

I'm not digging it much, hopefully the other tracks will be better.

 

Thing is, Mike has entered into a genre of music which is owned by several people/groups of people who do it so much better than anyone else. There's so much good rap music out there, you compare it to stuff by say, 2Pac, Jay-Z or even Eminem which it's never gonna be as good as...

 

I still reckon it sounds like Mike rapping over The Prodigy

 

it's gonna be hard to have a single if they keep leaking out the songs. you can already download both RTN and Petrified. Let's just go ahead and release the album...that'd be nice.

Is it just me, or does the hook of Petrified sound like it contains parts of Method Man and Busta Rhymes' song "What's Happening"?

 

Wow, I just listened to them back to back to see if you were right; sure enough both "what" and "come on" are in both hooks in the same spots (just not as often in Petrified because the hook is shorter). It's probably just coincidence though.

Edit: Why would mike switch singles because a fan site leaked it? Tracks get leaked all the time.
