How many of those are songs by Aussie artists? Just curious, but which are your favourite Australian bands? I don't have much exposure to many Aussie bands; most of my music is from artists from North America.
Porbably half of these are australian (The standouts from the list IMO are in bold): missy higgins, eskimo joe, spiderbait, john butler trio, little birdy, evermore, ben lee, grinspoon, butterfingers, jet, grinspoon, sarah blasko, machine gun fellatio, scribe, lior, wolfmother, the living end, regurgitator, the waifs, xavier rudd, epicure, powderfinger, panda band, the spazzys, dallas crane, the dissociatives, end of fashion, after the fall, gyroscope, the butterfly effect -they are all australian There are so many other awesome aussie artists - architecture in helsinki, shihad/pacifier, karnivool, downsyde, the cat empire, pivot and triple j is an awesome radio station that doesn't play commercial crap (they don't play Linkin Park either ). i think i posted the top 10 from that list in random thoughts a while ago
Here's all the other hottest 100's: http://abc.net.au/triplej/hottest100/histo...ory/default.htm Triple J used to play Linkin Park when they first came out, but then rejected them when they became successful. They gave One Step Closer and Papercut a good run at the time, in fact One Step Closer is in the 2001 chart. But Triple J are now stricter on who makes it on their station, and with Frenzal Rhomb on the team doing the morning radio show (who slagged off Linkin Park on stage at the Livid festival, referring to them as 'corporate bloated American rubbish') so I doubt they'll be back on anytime soon. They probably still play them if you request it on their request show.
If you're talking about what Lisa said, all the bands she mentioned are Australian. The ones in bold were the ones that stood out for her as she said.
yeah they are getting stricter on what they play. which makes it kinda good. cos they are playing the good bands now but its also a pity that they are rejecting LPs old stuff except Papercut and One Step Closer. Actually, they didnt reject Crawling or In The End.
