Is it true that Chester wouldn't play Breaking The Habit live because it was too of an emotional song for him? Because in all the 2003, and Meteora tours they never played it, only in 2004. Do you think maybe it's the same with Hit The Floor, Easier To Run, and the original Pushing Me Away?
i dunno, i'm glad they didn't play it,its not that good. but i was bombed they didnt play Hit The Floor
for bth, mike says something at the kroq2003 show, what i don't really understand, but i think it's something like they just finished the song at that time. (piano solo, etc...) i think they didn't play the original pushing because they play the remix, what is much better.
I don't see why HTF would be emotional. But BTH was sort of emotional. While the song wasn't necessarily written FOR Chester (as we have proven in other threads), Chester CAN relate to it. Easier To Run... well, Chester could never sing that in tune. And they used to play the regular Pushing during the HT tour, but have since stopped. Just like Forgotten, sadly.
i herd it was because the song was written about chesters herowin addiction and thats why he found it to hard to sing live but thay played it when i saw them in 2002/3 i cant memeber thay played it at the acoustic fest to as for the others thay probly dont play them as much because the other songs thay play get a bigger reaction from the crowd. STAB
It ISN'T about Chester. Holy crap. How many times must it be said? Mike had been trying to write the song for 5 years. Meteora came out in 2003. 2003-5= 1998. Chester didn't join the band until about 1999. The. End.
I have the song of him singing ETR live. It's on the Numb single.
He STILL sounds out of tune though. Tell me otherwise.
He STILL sounds out of tune though. Tell me otherwise.
Sometimes he goes out of tune. I agree with that. But it's not a bad performance overall.
I said he played Breaking The Habit in 2004, so everyone that's like ''OMG, I have BTH Live!!!'', stfu. He didn't play it in 2003, because he felt it was so emotional.
Well there was an article in Circus Magazine in 2004 that Chester refused to sing that song because he became too emotional... I dunno if that's really right, it's just what they wrote... I dunno about the other songs...
On LPU 4 he sings Breaking The Habit, there are parts of the live version including Mike's piano intro that makes it somewhat better than the non-live version. They also played it at Live 8.
I was wondering the same, but they played it at Live 8, which was jsut said. It was pretty cool with Chester doing the first verse and chorus acapella and then starting it over with music. I guess it added to the overall "feel" of the song.
They sang Breaking the Habit in 2003 and during the Meteora Tour cycle and they played all those other songs in 2003. I don't think them playing the song during the Summer Sanitarium tour was because 'it was too emotional for Chester'. I would think this thread needs to be closed..
They've played it at basically every live show since mid-November of 2003. That's an assload of shows, so it's not really that big of a deal.
