Phoenix Confirms LP Is Writing New Album

    Phoenix recently sent out a message through the Linkin Park Newsletter to update everyone on the status of the new Linkin Park album. Here's what he had to say;

    "My Linkin Park People,

    How's it going? For me (and us), things are moving very well. We have taken about a year off and are now back into full work mode. What does a year off look like for Linkin Park? Surprisingly, it was a lot of work. During our "down time," we started Music For Relief, a non-profit organization working to mobilize musicians and their fans to aid in times of disaster. We also played Live 8, the largest show in our band's history. Mike, workaholic that he is, wrote, recorded, and promoted his own side project, Fort Minor. In case you are completely out of the loop, the album releases on 11/22, and is brilliant. Check it out on THE LEAK, and let us know what you think on the LP boards. In addition Chester has been working on some great music that you will surely hear about in the future.

    Now, after all that has transpired over the last 12+ months, we are writing a new album. I can honestly say that I am more enthusiastic and excited about the music we are writing and the direction of this album than anything we have ever done. We are planning to have the album released mid 2006. I hope your collective patience will not be exhausted!

    I am also excited about LPU5. We are including exclusive music we played at Live 8 with Jay Z, along with a lot of other cool stuff in the package. Check out all that information at LPunderground.com starting 11/21 when the new fan club launches.

    Although, if this album doesn't have some more intresting guitar, or overall music, I'll kill myself.

    wtf???? through the constant bickering and moaning that just about all LPUers have expressed through thread after thread, they are STILL including this fucking shit on the LPU cd.... that better not be the only thing on there.... this has pissed me off as well...

    agreed. i want un released tracks. im sick of everythign to do with jay z. i do not want to hear it again. plus jay z messed up his track at live 8 anyways, i dont wanna hear some messed up, vocally not right music on a cd. :p

    Oh man just finally when I tihnk that Mike has melted into his own and started doing his own music they have to do sometihng like this. This just pisses me off, all I want is more Fort Minor records and this is gonna interupt the process. Does this really mean that Mike wont do anymore solo stuff? Does this mean the end of Fort Minor?

    I'm going to orgasm in a second. Its been so long. Metora was 2003 right? I never would have given up hope. I'm HAPY. I wonder whatthe new album's gonna sound like.... angry? sad? their 1st love song perhaps? do you think they've been influenced by any of the emo music that's so popular today? I've missed the boys so much. None of this solo shit. Its not the same. I don't even like rap, but when Mike raps w/ LP it means something. Collectivley they're a great band. ALL HAIL MR. HAHN. he's a genius. they're all so good together.

    I saw that Live 8 stuff was going to be on LPU5 and I started laughing. Sucks to be the people paying for it.
