I wonder how rough a lot of screaming means...well mike better dish out some un-watered down rhymes for the album and then magically join them with the "alot of screaming" and it would be aweeesoome

Seriously, I swear to God if they leak one of the songs in the coming months, i'm going to fall off of my chair and probably delay myself from hearing it. This is the best news...ever

I personally cannot stand Chester's screaming. It seems to detract from the quality of the songs, imo.

Or it seems to detract away from the poppyness of some Linkin Park songs.

    lots of screaming = good.

although this album will still be a disappointment in my opinion unless there is a twenty minute DJ Hahn instrumental...

I dont know why people consider music with a good melody, and quality singing poppy....just makes it good music....I admit that chester, can sound whiny because he tends to sing through his nose...but screaming (atleast for me) isnt going to make the music any better. When he doesnt force it.....the guys got an amazing voice.....

but I also have stopped liking metal and mostly listen to LP because of there electronica and hip-hop elements.....so for people who like screaming.....WHOO HOO

The riffs aren't up to Dimebag's standard, but I can see what he means with pretty much everything being played on drop-d.

I hope there will be a nice balance between the screaming and the singing....that way we get ALL of the Linkin Park sound and not just the screaming or the singing...

Uhhh...because it sounds poppy? "Breaking The Habit" proves the point. I was hoping LP would shy away from the pop ballads and hopefully they will for the most part. If there's alot more screaming as Chester said, then it's a progression for the band, not the implementation of a flute under the faux guise of "experimentation".

That's the main problem that makes them sound poppy. A good example of Chester's melody is in "Let Down", or "Pushing Me Away". But when he starts singing in a nasal tone, I think that's where most people tend to dislike LP's music and call them "poppy".

I can't hear you. Scream louder.

As for that nasal tone of Chester's, I'm going to go off on a limb and say that he's never had any real singing lessons. What he should be doing is singing from the throat.

No you're supposed to be singing from the diaphragm. If I remember right, singing any other way is unhealthy.

Also, Breaking The Habit might be poppy but it's also probably the best song Linkin Park's every written imho.
