Hey, I just found this song called dedicated and i'm pretty sure it's mike rapping on the song so i thought that it was one of Fort Minors... turns out that Linkin Park did the song. But this song isn't on any of the albums, anyone know about the song dedicated?? or mayb i hav the name wrong but im pretty sure this wasn't on the album Hybrid Theory, Meteora, Live In Texas or Reanimation.
    Heres the lyric for it:
I have a dream of a city between the green hills
Clouds pull away, and the sunlight’s revealed
People don’t talk about keeping’ it real
It’s understood that they actually will
And intoxicated and stimulated MC’s starrin’ in the trees, paranoid
    Are gone in the breeze
Watch them flee, hip-hop pets, take a walk with me
And what you’ll see is a land where the sands made of crushed up wax
And the sky beyond you Is krylon blue
And everybody speaks in a dialective rhyme
MC’s have left materialism behind them
Meanwhile, I just grip my mic
And hope me and my team make it through alright
    Because say what you will
    And say what you might
But don’t ignore who it’s for at the end of the night

Cuz this is dedicated to the kids
Dedicated to where the music lives
Dedicated to those tired of the same old saying
And dedicated to the people advancin’ the game
    What’s real?
It’s the kids who know something’s wrong
    What’s real?
It’s the kids who think they don’t belong
    What’s real?
It’s the kids who have nowhere to run, who are hiding in the shadows, waiting
    for the sun

I’ve see a lot of shit I’ve talk to a bum out on Sunset Strip
He asked me how would you feel if everybody acted like you didn’t exist
You’d lose your grip Probably eventually flip
So let it be known, the only reason that we do this
So you can pick it up and just bang ya head to it
While MC’s fight to see who can be the commonest
We float overhead like a space odyssey monolith
    Overseeing the game
Over being part of the same old thing
It’s all gonna change, in a hurricane
Darkness and pain, and acidic rain and promises you won’t do it again
Meanwhile, I just grip my mic
And hope me and my team make it through alright
    Because say what you will
    And say what you might
But don’t ignore who it’s for at the end of the night

Cuz this is dedicated to the kids
Dedicated to where the music lives
Dedicated to those tired of the same old saying
And dedicated to the people advancin’ the game
    What’s real?

    What’s real?
It’s the kids who think they don’t belong
    What’s real?
It’s the kids who have nowhere to run, who are hiding in the shadows, waiting
    for the sun

Pulling me close, the shadow is warm inside,
This is where I feel at home, this is my place to hide
Pulling me close, the shadow is warm inside
This is where I feel at home, this is my place to hide

Cuz this is dedicated to the kids

    Everybody who doesn’t feel safe
    What’s real?
Everybody who knows they’re out of place
    What’s real?
Anybody with no where to run, who hides in the shadows, waiting for the sun

umm actually dude i think you're talking about High Voltage...

i dunno, but i think High Voltage would have been perfect for HT (if that was the reason it was cut out) because to me its the "Linkin Park Anthem".. :D

As for Dedicated.. i think its mikes best work lyrically :)

If LP had eventualy released Dediacated as a final version into the mainstream then I could bet my life on it that it would get to number 1 in atleast 2 countries.

I believe Dedicated was supposed to be on the Hybrid Theory EP but was cut and is on the LPU 2.0 cd.
And I also think High Voltage was cut from the Hybrid Theory LP.
    - Correct me if I'm wrong. *waits for tasta*

The High Voltage that was cut from the LP was the High Voltage Remix. You can hear it from the end of Cure For The Itch and the beginning of HV.

Yeah basically lol. Although it's not known if Dedicated was intened to be on the EP, it was recorded in '99 around the same time.

It was originally recordered as a demo, but it found it's way onto the 2.0 CD included with the package. It's a great song, but I don't really listen to it anymore since I used to overplay it.

it definately doesnt say hip-hop "pets"

iam not entirely sure what mike says - it sounds like "hip hop heads," but theres every chance he could be saying "hip hop hits"

i figured "hip-hop hits" was selectively reffering to the opening verse of It's Going Down.
