This album is driving me crazy!!! I'm soo excited to hear the new stuff. THe melodic description stood out to me. After hearing some of chesters solo stuff his voice has really stood out and impressed me. i'm looking forward to the creativity this album is bound to have. can't wait!

I think it's pretty much impossible to make a dark pop record.

everyone is saying that there cant be a dark poppy sounding song.
well "walking dead" is definitly dark in the sense of lyrics and such and it sounds a lil poppy.
so probably think about breaking the habit/ walking dead sounding. mike did say a while back that breaking the habit is the direction they would like to take the next record.
    thats my guess

Mike said that that want to use the same level of "creativity" it took to create Breaking the Habit. That doesn't mean they will use the same sound.

I am definitely excited as hell about this, as long as their style and sound doesn't change dramatically, I'll love the new album.

    offtopic question:
By the way Uncle_Raj, is that Spider-Man 3 picture real? or is it a photo shop image created by some one? either way, it looks amazing, and now I'm hyped up for the movie even more haha..

oh wait let me go check the bulliten board of linkin quotes and interviews thats hanging up in my room.
    . .
    oh ok your right
    my bad

i thought about something. . we are going to be sitting here 3-4 more years form now doing the same thing lol
    kinda pointless really.
we all are going to think that the new stuff is great at first. . then a year after its out someone is going to find some flaw to it, saying its another watered down version of hybrid theory blah blah blah
its too poppy blah blah blah
why cant we take music for what its there for, entertainment
who cares if its poppy, or heavy.
lables have just created problems for all music, and now everyone says they dont like this or that because they changed their style. who ever said a band had to stick with one style?
    pop, rock, rap, electronic
what ever musical direection linkin decides to go ill like them for who they are and their talent to make great music
im done with my rant that has nothing to do with this thread.

well, in comparison, some people described Children of Bodom's "Follow The Reaper" album poppy and melodic, yet it was still a pretty damn heavy record.

i think he might possibly mean that lots of the songs sound different. Sort of like Faint and Breaking the Habit.

    just a thought

I tried saying that aloud all at once about a half an hour ago and I must have ran out of air in my lungs and fallen unconcious because I just woke up slumped in a heap on my floor.

The single will be bad judgement. We all know it will probably be one fo the more "poppy" songs on the album. Although the rest of the album might kick ass. I am mainly just looking forward to the b-sides, hopefully there will be b-sides to this album.

Am I the only one who thinks this is great news? This sounds like the LP album I want to hear! As soon as the word 'poppy' is uttered people get really worried! Relax guys! Its not going to be Nsync or anything like that, poppy can simply mean catchy or more of an upbeat melody/tune. This is going to be a great album! (I dont know that, but I hope it is haha)
