Linkin Park Writing 'A Million Little Pieces'?

Mike Shinoda recently appeared on Lowie's Hot30 Countdown, and was asked what he thought the new Linkin Park album would be called. He responded by saying:

"I actually had an album title from [James Frey's 'A Million Little Pieces'] that I really liked, but I can't say it because of all the controversy."

He continued on to promise fans that the new album will "definetly" be released this year, sometime around July, August, or September. Shinoda also exclaimed that the new record, produced by the legendary Rick Rubin, will push Linkin Park's sound "outside of the box".

He said it's going to be named after something in the book, so obviously the name can't be "A Million Little Pieces".

july sounds good for an album to come out just can't wait

 

July sounds good...but knowing them it will be August or September...

 

It's nice to know that part of the "Million Little Pieces" joke has some truth to it. I'm sure Mike will use the idea he has from the book. But, like a lot of other people, I pray it's not named closely to the title of the book.

LINKIN PARK have set "Thousand Little Pieces" as the title of their new album, due this summer via Warner Music. The CD is being recorded in Los Angeles with producer Rick Rubin (RED HOT CHILLI PEPPERS, BEASTIE BOYS and RUN-D.M.C.)

Name of the album comes from title of James Frey's book, "A Million Little Pieces". Mike Shinoda, LINKIN PARK rapper, revealed some info about their new effort:

"We wanted to do something different, go out of box. I think this title describes it all-- new way of working with material, new sound and lyrics. Now, when our fans are not yet familiar with new songs, they can't fully understand how this title links with it, but we hope they'll love it, as we all love it right now," said Shinoda. "We can't wait to let you guys hear this new stuff," he added.

Last, but not least, Shinoda revealed 3 titles for new songs from about 16 that are scheduled for: "That Day", "Back To You" and "Scramble". He said, that they could be changed, so don't take it for 100% sure.

Hmm...Anyone have any ideas what the album title could have been he was thinking of? I wish he would have said it.

Can't wait for this album. I read that MTV site saying it was coming out in May and got excited for then...aaaaaand waiting about 2 more months is going to suck, but it'll come regardless.

 

Mmmmmmh, I remember Mike's voice too much, and he is not Mike Shinoda..

I have to say I was much more pumped for Meteora than I am for this album, but we'll see which is better.

I could care less when it is released. As long as they take their time and don't rush it, I'll be happy.
