I'm trying to like the Arch Enemy and Fightstar tracks, but the vocals kill classic songs. The Atreyu track isn't that bad, but it's basically the original with screaming added just for the sake of it. Deftones do a good job of making a Lynyrd Skynyrd song sound good (by recording something that sounds nothing like them, obviously) but I enjoyed NoFX's cover of Straight Edge the most so far, even if it isn't completely serious. Those are the only tracks I've listened to so far.
Aye thank you, I found it. Can't wait to hear a high quality recording of A7X's cover of Walk. Other than that, I've heard a few of these and they're actually pretty good.
these two should be interesting>Its hard to sound like Chris Cornell wonder how they'll do it. BTW where are Metallica and Guns N' Roses covers?
Only listened to it once but the stand out tracks for me are Killswitch Engage, Fightstar and Bullet For My Valentines covers
Indeed. And my brother is going to go insane when he hears the Killswitch cover. The riffs to that are amazing.
Buddy Holly owns everything else on the album. The only thing wrong with it is that they left the bridge out. I don't understand why 36 Crazyfists decided to cover Digging The Grave. Not that it's bad, but there are so many better Faith No More songs.
I can agree with the 36CF cover. It would've been awesome to cover something like Midlife Crisis or Falling To Pieces. Not Epic though, because FNM and only FNM should do that song. And I actually don't mind the Walk cover at all, it's just the fact that it's done A7X that makes it "meh".
HOLY CRAP. I just listened to Holy Diver and it kicks ass, the singer sounds similar to Dio in parts.
