Who here is impressed with the new album? It's catchy as hell, but not in a poppy way (à la new Lostprophets), more in a catchy hooks kind of way. Ben's vocals have improved. Although new listeners may have to get used to his vocal style, it's definitely an improvement. The lyrics are great. Especially on songs like "Devil In A Midnight Mass" (a song about priest abuse), "Fallen Leaves", and "This Suffering". It's definitely worth checking out, in my opinion.
This CD is pretty amazing. Songs like "Worker Bees", "Fallen Leaves", "Devil in a Midnight Mass", and "Perfect World" make this CD for me. Probably one of the best Sophomore albums I've ever heard.
I liked their last album. I didn't think it was really original in many ways but I thought they were good at what they did. I'm looking to hear this one.
I'm about to check this album out.. from what I've heard it's rather good. Seeing them live again 22 days too. Can't wait.
I loved the first album and I checked this out and it's shaping up to be a pretty damn good CD. Make take awhile to get into it, but same thing happened with thr first one.
I like the album. It literally is like, a part two in the sense it's not very different from their first album, but it still feels pretty fresh. I'm liking it so far, and it's a good follow up to their first.
I liked a few songs on their last album... I'll have to check it out. Having catchy songs isn't a bad thing, I think (see: Better than Ezra's "Before The Robots"), but I do have a problem when bands seem to try and do it on purpose (see Mark's example).
This album gets better with each listen. "Surrender" has quickly become my favorite. Great lyrics, original instrumentation (it's different), and improved vocals. I like the album because it's different compared to everything else out there nowadays. Not drastically different, but different enough to be still relevant.
I'm loving this album so far. Although there a couple songs that sound almost too much like songs from the first album.
Oh, so that's what it's about. Billy Talent II is going to be amazing. They're headlining a concert that i'm going to on Canada Day. Has anyone seen them live? I guess most of their setlist will be from their new album, because it comes out before the concert.
I saw them live in April at Give It a Name.. they are great. So much charasma on stage, you'll be sure to enjoy yourself.
I was recommended to listen to them by a friend so I'm just getting into them... don't have BT2 yet but looking forward to hearing it!
i'm listening to it for the first time now. i'm only up to worker bees, but so far i'm really liking it.
