Didn't see another topic, and I know there's a what movie did you recently watch thread, but I wanted a topic on this movie in particular...

Anyways, I just saw it today and I thought it was amazing. I'd seen the original a while back and one of its sequels (forgot which one), but I thought this was just as good, if not better. Apparently my two friends and I were the only ones who thought so, though, because everyone else has told me it sucked.

Anyone else see it? Did you like it, or not?

I would love to see it. Is it really good, then? Man, I'll have to wait a long time before it comes here, anyway, I've seen the original, I thought the concept was cool, but a lot more could be done to it. How were the effetcs?

I saw it. It sucked something fierce. The acting was amater-ish. The whole redo was just...melodramatic almost. People were laughing in the theatre when the movie was supposed to be serious...

The only scary parts were parts that jumped out at you. That's not true horror, that's shock, which means nothing.

This could have been much, much better. 3/10

The effects all seemed realistic to me. They're just what you'd expect from a bid-budget horror movie.

Personally, I thought if you liked the original you'd like this one since it stuck so close to it.

In the theater I went to people were laughing when a scary moment had just passed and everyone in the entire theater jumped because it was somewhat unexpected (some were unexpected scares, some you knew were coming but still made you jump). I thought the acting -- for the most part -- was fine. Liev (spelling? I don't even know if that's the right name) did a good job in his role I thought, but Julia Stiles was... ehhh. The little kid did decent, but he didn't have to do much to begin with.

I saw the original beforehand, but I still thought the new one sucked.

I was seriously laughing during the random 'scary' moments.

    I also fell asleep.

But hey, now I get the joy of saying I saw it on 06/06/06.

    Or would that be shame?

That's sad. When I saw it, I was like, cool plot! But a lot more could be done to it.

Saw it aaages ago. It was alright. Acting wasn't anything special, but otherwise it was pretty good. I haven't seen that original film though, so my opinion is just of this film as a film, rather than as a remake.
