After over a year of bizarre, stupid and out of control behavior, Paramount have axed their 14 year contract with the star and have decided not to renew. http://news.aol.com/entertainment/m...uts-ties-with-tom-cruise/20060822191909990002 Best part is, this is directly in reference to his scientology influenced whackjob behavior. Maybe Tom will realize that everyone thinks he's crazy now.
What would really make me laugh is if Paramount get's abducted by ailens. And there dropping the contract due to religous beliefs? Sure, it may seem that Tom is away from reality with his religion, but come on!
Wow, that really sucks for him. He kinda did it to himself though...so he has nobody to blame but himself.
Yeah, that's true. He's still a great actor and he played a lot of great parts but he's just being ridiculous right now.
I don't understand why everyone hates him so much. I mean sure, he acts a little strange, but what's the big deal? It's not like he's hurting anyone. He just thinks differently.
Cause he's arrogant and a thickheaded person to boot? Exhibit A: Getting way too offended when water was sprayed in his face. I mean...its okay to be offended, but he embarassed himself. Exhibit B: His rather stupid arguement with Matt Lauer which basically proved he was a couple sandwhiches short of a picnic basket.
i don't understand how people think he got axed based on scientology. no. he got axed cause he's a fuckin loony. even if he wasn't a scientologist, and was, say, a hasidic jew. and was still acting as crazy as he is. they'd still axe him. the insanity, is just...overpowering the fact that he is a very talented actor. honestly. people don't think "great actor" when they hear his name. they think "nutcase". and obviously, paramount was sick of it. no problems there.
Exhibit A: That baseball player (I forget his name, Randy something. if it's necessary, let me know, i'll look it up) punched a guy for fucking talking to him. How come he didn't get fired and ridiculed by the entire world? Exhibit B: I think people have to have arguments for people to learn more about things. Things have to be questioned. Sure, he may have been in the wrong (I'm not educated enough about it to say), but still should he be fired and made a fool of because he thinks about thinks differently than the rest of America? I guess I honestly just can't understand why he gets so much shit. I'm certainly not pro-Tom Cruise, I don't really care about him. I'm just saying, there are worse things that go on.
He was probably just very confident, and extremely pleased and happy with his life that he began to openly speak out about his opinions. Although his behaviour was frowned upon, I don't think that he deserved this kind of treatment.
In some way he should be expecting that. He was acting crazy and maybe this decision of paramount was the best, to see if he calms down a little bit...
I think you mean Kenny Rogers (yes, there's a baseball player named that, shut up) when he knocked the camera off the cameraman's shoulders because OHMYGOD he was video-taping him. He got suspended for 20 games. If you mean Randy Johnson or somebody, I don't think Big Unit did anything, but then again, i could be mistaken.
Good. Fuck scientology, it's the most absurd load of crap I've ever heard of. I really really can't believe people buy into that shit.
