Source: http://alternativepress.com/news/index.htm#1454 Can't say I'm really surprised, after they cancelled their European tour and subsequent shows were played with fill-in players, it seemed almost certain that it was only a matter of time before this announcement came. They played pretty well at Lollapalooza though, even without Mic and Josh, and having DEP's drummer in the lineup now should be interesting.
Wow...this is crazy. I knew there were a lot of problems in the band but I hoped they'd stay together. Josh needs a new Weerd Science CD, now that he doesn't have Coheed
Damn, I hope this doesn't change their sound too much. I'm really digging Prize Fighter Inferno right now though. It's something different, but I like it.
Quoted for truth. Speaking of Coheed, anybody else check out the new live DVD? It's really good, plus it was the last show with Mic and Josh, so it's pretty cool to watch. The almost-10-minute extended jam at the end of Final Cut is jaw-dropping.
I didn't catch the DVD but they did that when I saw them back in March with Avenged Sevenfold. They're such a good live band and I'm pretty glad that I got to see them once while they still had the original lineup.
Wow. I really hoped they would sort things out, but apparently not. And Chris Pennie? I wonder what thats gonna sound like.
This news doesn't bother me to a great extent. So long as the band manages to stay together and keep writing terrific albums, I'll be happy.
