    Hardcore / Screamo / Emo-violence / Grindcore / Fuzzypoopcore

screamo / emo-violence music. we all love it. talk about it, recommend bands, or just complain that the lyrics are bland to you or that the screaming is annoying. but if you do the latter, prepared to get raped by a city of caterpillar ep.

BANDS NOT ALLOWED TO BE TALKED ABOUT HERE:
    underoath
    norma jean
    alexisonfire
    atreyu
    avenged sevenfold
    my chemical romance
    the used

some recommend bands are city of caterpillar, kodan armada, and indian summer.

Emo - violence? As in communist black metal, religious punk, christian death metal and pop music that deals with world economy? ;p

If this is the music that spawns all the 'xhardcorex' kids with all the black clothes, black hair and pink jewelry who claim to be 'being original and themselves' then damn it to hell. If one more of these kids asks why I can't stand them again, they're getting a fork in the eye.

...and, yet, some how, some way, I knew that this thread was going to become geared toward the fashion, instead of the music, which was the point of the thread.

who cares about the scene? honestly? let them be who they think they want to be and leave them alone. i think it's so stupid when people get mad and pitch fits over whether someone's "emo" or not.

no one pitches a fit because you dress like a nerd or a prep (unless they're all about bashing social castes in high school), so why should you pitch a fit because they think they're unique? let them think that.

you're not really helping the "problem" any by complaining about it.

and, just so you know, neil, that wasn't directed toward you at all. just the "scene haters" in general. because i used to be one, and i know how annoying i used to be.

    but onto the thread:

the fall of troy. that's all that needs to be said. unless they're not really in this genre. in which case, i'm lost.

    Completely agree.

The Fall of Troy is one of the only bands I like in this genre.

I tried listening to The Blood Brothers and I guess they're okay, but The Fall of Troy is so much better.

    ----

Do you consider These Arms Are Snakes or He Is Legend as this genre too, Franny?

Because I think they're pretty great too.

okay dude. you have the huggest misconception of emo music. and hardcore music all together. so stop.

and i wouldn't really consider taas or hil emo-violence or screamo, but botch, the band that taas formed from is pretty screamo-ish. everyone should listen to them. these arms are snakes are really good though. they're fucking legends to me.

and will, tfot fits this genre pretty well.

Once you get past the fact that Schuylar's voice sounds like crap compared to I Am Hollywood, Suck Out the Poison is a pretty good record. China White II is probably the best track on that album.

Yeah, I know. At first his voice kind of bothered me, but now I think it's just a great record.

I only said if this is, in hopes of a response, because it seemed to me like those people listened to hardcore and emo-screamo or whatever. You don't have guys that listen to Dj Tiesto wearing pants with 1000 safety pins in them, or with huge liberty spikes, I was just wondering..

yeah because we all know that "hardcore / screamo / emo kids" wear pants with 1000 saftey pins in them, or have huge liberty spikes.

if you want to talk about the fashion then go to the random chat area.
    this is for the music.

and yeah, i didn't really like suck out the poison that much. it had moments though.

I was previewing their CD the other day. The Lost. The Sick. The Sacred actually doesn't sound all too bad.

I'm not big at all of this scene but I can give it credit for at least something musically being in the spotlight beides rap. Avenged Sevenfold isn't bad depending on the song, but most of my music taste varies randomly due to either lyric content or ambience of sound.

and none of the good (or real) screamo / emo-violence music is popular in any way.

Thing is Franny is that you made a thread about discussing bands of a certain Genre but banned discussion of some of the most popular bands of that genre...

no i banned discussion of bands that are not involved with the genre at all.

screaming = does not mean screamo.
singing about your girlfriend = does not mean emo.
