According to several of our trusty forum members, SNL has just announced during their show that Linkin Park will join host Molly Shannon as musical guest of the famed comedy show, on May 12th, the weekend before releasing Minutes to Midnight.

For the moment, there is no confirmation of this report, so please treat this as speculation until verified.

They announced it about a half hour ago on SNL. I'm trying to find something to prove it.

Spiffy. The 2nd time this year I'll actually watch SNL... sure is a shame that show used to be worth watching WITHOUT my favorite band being on it.

Well, we record SNL on DVR because on a rare occasion it's pretty funny. So I can watch that later today, and hear/see for myself if they are definitley playing on SNL.

Linkin Park should have done SNL years ago. I always wondered why they never did. Anyway, this is good news. ^_^

Wait, isn't the show supposed to be hosted by Scarlett Johanson? that's what it says on LPtimes.

The episode where it was announced was hosted by her. There's no confirmation as to who will host LP's episode (if its even true) but often music guests will appear in skits too. A good example is Justin Timberlake. He appeared on SNL twice and both times he performed and did skits.

Honestly, I'd love LP to do some skits. It'd be genius.

lp are pretty funny guys ... i'm just not sure if their humor would adapt enough to SNL to seem funny on there

should be good to see anyway

SNL hasn't been funny in the past 10 years. I don't think LP's level of humor is going to matter.

Yeah, but Justin Timberlake was the host, and I'm sure they just decided that he'd do the music, too, because he had an album to promote. He does both things very well, in my opinion. Linkin Park will most likely make one skit appearance at most, and not have any major role. Just like "Hey, that's Linkin Park!" or something like that.

However, the guys like to have fun and are rowdy, so I might have to take back what I said. I'm just pretty sure it won't happen.

I doubt they will do skits. Musical guests don't do skits...rarely
