So I guess that album review can pretty much be diregarded now, huh?

Just goes to show how wrong one person can be when writing a shitty review... even from hearing this thirty seconds or so, I'd give this a 6/5. Over perfect. Just cuz it's been so long since I've smiled ear to ear about a new Linkin Park song, just from hearing a small portion... I also got butterflies, cuz I wanna go buy it right now... LP should drop a bomb on us that the album is released today. That would be sick. But they aren't gonna, so all we have is the single WID and this thirty seconds to hold us over... and the AOL Sessions that I'm gonna watch. I hope they play this... they should end the show with this song... it's a good finale song... like OSC was for all the shows...

    Okay, I'm done.

Sounds so much like a LP track and yet so different. Simply amazing. Oh and WID no match in front of this

Absolutely sick as hell. The way Chester sounds like a true rock singer in this song and then the huge ear-bleeding (in a good way) screams at the end with Brad's unique guitar playing is awesome. This song is an uproar of approval!

I'm not saying I dislike it at all, but I have to disagree with the "sounding really different" sentiment. The first part is just a run of the mill 4-powerchord progression (it's actually the same chord progression as What I've Done just 3 semitones lower in pitch), and the second part just sounds like a reworked version of A.06/Lying from You/QWERTY, very similar guitar riff to all 3 of those songs. The only thing that makes it different at ALL is that Chester says fuck in it, and the guitar riff toward the end comes in clean and palm-muted, which makes it sound similar to the guitar in Sold My Soul to Yo Mama.

I think when they say different, it means that they will change the tuning of the rhythm sound in Linkin Park as a nu metal band. If you haven't noticed, but the previous albums consisted of more instruments playing at the same time and blended in more in a tidy fashion. But whatever.

This track has just blew me away, I wasn't expecting anything as heavy as this. Probably now one of my most anticipated track. Woot!

I have to say, Chester sings pretty damn high on this track, and thankfully it sounds like he still has the gravely voice and awesome scream after all. The past couple years he's sounded like he lost a bit of the edge to his vocals.

To the untrained musical ear, it sounds different. Harkening back to the Hybrid Theory days, this song would have more of a groove beat to it, with more hip hop influences.

This is just straight metal, though. Maybe a bit of hard punk rock. It's enough of a variation to signify a shift in their sound.

Also, I'm pleased with the fact that despite the obvious screaming, it's intelligible screaming. Heh. :D There are many other bands that would simply try and squeeze every word out in the scream instead of just using it to emphasize a particular syllable.
