Hey, does anyone know if they've sold over a million yet? I'm just wondering, because of all the people who said they weren't gonna sell more than 200000 the first week. Proved you wrong, huh?
Actually isn't it like approximately 2 million in its first week of release according to the calculations?
I'm so happy for them... all the criticism before the album got released, and everything that got leaked prior to release, and they still get the numbers... that's just amazing... Linkin Park simply rules the world, bar none.
Here's the official status: 951,000 [approximately] in the US, and certified platinum already. The approximate worldwide has been 3,000,000 between the three weeks out, so it's selling about 1 Million copies world-wide every week. I see another "Hybrid Theory" effect going on here.
Hybrid Theory has sold more than 20 million units worldwide, making it the biggest selling debut album of the 21st century... Meteora has sold nearly 11 million units worldwide, making it the biggest selling rock album of 2003... In total Linkin Park has sold aprox. 40 million albums worldwide to date, making it the best selling band of the decade... Pretty impresive isn't it?
According to LPA, they have sold 36 million in total somewhere. Is that 40 million suppose to be a round up of the 36 million despite the fact that there's a clear missing gap of 4 million? Or does it include albums like LPU 6?
Hm, I can't find the link right now but MTV has reported over 2,500,000-ish copies sold... This album is going for the 3 millions..
are you including the other albums such as reanimation, live in texas, the mash up with jay-z, and minutes to midnight? LPU CDs wouldnt be included in the numbers.
There's an official Warner Records video that confirms 38 miliion albums sold, plus the 2 million confirmed for M2M = 40 million... and why isn´t any official place where you can see M2M sales... Nobody is updating Wikipedia!!!
There's no denying Linkin Park has something special. I'm making a prediction that sales will continue to increase through their summer performances as well. Do you think?
I'm sure records sales will continue for a long time... Hybrid Theory is still rackin 'em up. I predict that by 2010, they'll be close to or over 50 million sold. Bar none. I mean, if they can sell 40 million in 7 years... In 3 years, half of 40 million would be 20 million, so... 40 million + 20 million > 50 million.
Who knows, maybe they'll release Minutes to Midnight Live at ((Somewhere)), and sales would just go up even more for them. True fact is that they are already one of the America's best selling bands (if they are not the best, which I think they are thanks to HT). Pfftt, I still think that it doens't matter what they do, they will still shake charts up and be #1, simply 'cuz they have done it always...
It'd be interesting to see a live album released for Projekt Revolution 2007... or something like the Live in Texas DVD.
