this is about old news but i thought i'd touch on it since i couldn't find any discussion on it here -

is anyone else sick of the fact that amy always makes evanescence a revolving door of band members? 'cause i've really had enough.

(yeah, sorry if there's already a thread on this but i didn't find it!)

There was a thread about this when John and Rocky first left the band, but since then I've kind of drifted more towards the middle instead of being against Amy and hating on her. We can blame Amy for what's going down but it's entirely possible that Rocky and John wanted to leave for a while because they had two different side projects together within their stay in Evanescence.

How can you tour as another band (or two) when Evanescence's tour lineup is already so demanding? Answer: you cant, and that's probably why Amy Lee fired John and didn't protest Rocky leaving the group.

Every time something like this comes up, I don't really understand the need to talk about it. It's really not a big deal at all and the band members that left/got fired don't seem too upset about it and from the sound of it, they were thinking about leaving anyway. Evanescence isn't a band and they don't really need to be. If they got rid of the guitar and the bass and the drums, Amy Lee could probably be just as successful. Every band member besides Amy Lee is replaceable and you can see that from the fact that all the instrumentals are easily playable by just about anybody.

EDIT: The only other member that would change anything is the one that she shares the writing credits with and on The Open Door, that was Terry. On Fallen, it was Ben Moody.

Yes, when one reaches the age of 12 they tend to leave that kind of stuff.

Well this may be old news... But when I seen them live before they broke up they were absolutely amazing. And the arena was completely sold out and the crowd was louder then Amy. Now I don't like evanescence much anymore because of the new guitarist and drummer. But I also don't like people posting things like

"when one reaches the age of 12 they tend to leave that kind of stuff."

I know people who are 23 years old and they still love evanescence to death, and remember... everyone has different tastes in what type of music they like. ;)

I saw them on wednesday and they have in no way lost any of their performance quality. The new drummer gets into the music a lot more than Rocky ever did. (I happen to have seen them twice. Once in 2004 and then last wednesday)
