Linkin Park fans should be excited to know that the band plans to professionally record all of their live sets during their Projekt Revolution '07 tour and allow fans who attended a show to download digital copies of that specific performance.

Mike and Dave revealed this information in a recent radio interview with Rockline. Mike had this to say:

"Lemme put it this way, every time you hear bootlegs of live shows on the Internet, it's always, like, board mixes or somebody's cellphone mix...they always sound terrible, regardless of how the song's played, you know? And in our case, we hear a lot of that stuff out there, and we thought, well, wouldn't it be nice if you could go to the show and buy the show? And at our show, you will be able to. You'll be able to go and pick up the show, and it'll download to you, and you'll be able to have that in your music player."

Update: Fans will be able to purchase their concert at merchandise booths at the concert, upon which time they'll receive a registration code for Live.LinkinPark.com. The audio files will be available within three business days of that concert date, and fans will have three days from the point they're posted online to download the songs.

Projekt Revolution kicked off today in Auburn, Washington.

Thanks to Neil, tasta, and JNudda!

I believe this is an incentive to get kids to quit bringing cameras to the concert.

This is such an awesome idea. I'm going to three shows, so I can't wait to get the concerts to listen to. :) I can't wait for PR, the artbook, and now the shows! Plus the concert alone.

excuse my language but that's a fuckin cool idea. odd phrasing, what mike said: "it'll download to you". not 100% what that means. will they be selling CDs wil mp3s on them or what?

First of all, I'm pretty sure this is purely audio. Professional video rips of the concert cost a lot of money, and I don't think Warner would be OK with that. Secondly...I really hope that it's not just a player that you can visit online, I hope that it's a CD or MP3s that we can own. If that's the case, big LP sites better clear some storage space...

I wouldn't worry. There are many ways of ripping music from streaming sites. It wont stop anyone :p

Fromm that has happened this early of the year
looks more like a player where you can visit and hear or see the concert
i highly think this will be it.
