    Billboard Top 200 Albums
    Minutes To Midnight - #7 (Last week - #7)
    Billboard Modern Rock Tracks
    What I've Done - #2 (Last week - #1)
    Bleed It Out - #10 (Last week - #13)
    Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks
    What I've Done - #4 (Last week - #4)
    Billboard Hot 100
    What I've Done - #21 (Last week - #13)
    Billboard Hot Digital Tracks
    What I've Done - #16 (Last week - #9)

On the album charts, Minutes To Midnight sold 47,000 copies this week to stay at #7 for a second consecutive week on the Billboard Top 200.

Despite a valiant effort to get to that magic sixteenth straight week atop the Modern Rock charts, Linkin Park were foiled by The White Stripes and their single "Icky Thump". The band were one week away from tying the all-time record of consecutive #1 weeks on the Modern Rock charts.

Meanwhile, "Bleed It Out" jumped into the top 10 of the Modern Rock charts and will soon exact revenge on the Stripes, if they manage to stay on top for a few weeks. To my recollection, the band haven't had two songs in the top ten on the Modern Rock charts before, so this may be a first for Linkin Park.

On other charts, WID stayed at #4 on the Mainstream Rock charts, fell eight spots to #21 on the Hot 100, and dropped seven spots to #16 on the Hot Digital list.

Oh well 15 weeks is still a great achievement. In my opinion there is no need to be disappointed.

    Go BIO. :D

I have a question, has any other band ever had two songs in the top 10 of the Modern Rock charts? Certainly might be something to look into.

Oh well so they didn't make it to 16 weeks but 15 weeks is still amazing. I can't stand that White Stripes song but there you go. You can't do anything about what people find popular. Anyway I wouldn't think the White Stripes can hold off Linkin Park with Bleed It out as the single's doing so well despite the fact the single isn't out for another three weeks or so. I am not going to get despondent as they might not have equaled the record but fifteen weeks is some achievement.

Bleed It Out has a high chance of possibly surpassing What I've Done. It may appeal to the fans more as it has that Old Skool Linkin Park vibe to it. It is so darn catchy to listen to and it's a very unique sound compared to other Linkin Park material.

And damn White Stripes! I have never liked the band at all to be brutally honest and it pains me to see (not literally) that Linkin Park were 1 week away from achieving that 16 week goal. Bad timing I guess. But still, a huge success.

Doesn't matter as it will always remain:

What I've Done > Icky Thump

I think Billboard Modern Rock had to have done that on purpose... or maybe people were plotting for this or um... they got hit by something and screwed their system up making them make a mistake?

Oh well I was so sure they were going to do it. At least now there's Bleed It Out :D

maybe linkin park can break the record for longest consecutive weeks in the top 10, that would definately be something to look into. I mean with different songs, like What I've Done might be in there for 20 weeks then bleed it out another 15 weeks without what i've done in there.
