VMA Performance Unconfirmed, Yet Possible.

    According to speculation the past few days, fans of Linkin Park were led to believe that they would be performing at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards. However, MTV.com has a list of those performing at the VMAs this year and Linkin Park is conspicuously absent from the list. 50 Cent, Christina Aguilera, Mary J. Blige, Coldplay and Good Charlotte will be performing this year. This may mean that Linkin Park are not performing at this years VMAs, but it does not mean that Linkin Park definately aren't performing either.

    Presenters at this year's VMAs include Evanescence, DMX, Avril Lavigne and Snoop Dogg among others. Also scheduled to make appearances are the Olsen Twins, Tony Hawk, Jason Biggs and Jimmy Fallon among others. The show premieres on MTV on August 28th at 8pm EST.

    Linkin Park have been nominated for Best Rock Video against Evanescence ("Bring Me To Life"), Good Charlotte ("Lifestyles Of The Rich And Famous"), Metallica ("St. Anger") and The White Stripes ("Seven Nation Army") with their first single off Meteora, "Somewhere I Belong."

    Editors Note: Since there has been a commercial airing in Europe showing that Linkin Park is set to perform at this year's VMAs, please treat this as something that may or may not happen. Since the commercial says they're playing, and the site says they're not, we can't be sure if they are or not. We'll be sure to let you know if they are or not when we get correct info.

    There's still spots to be filled. Remember when LP were added in the last week of the 2001 VMA's? Don't start to say they aren't playing and go against an MTV Europe commercial because they've yet to announce if LP are playing. Ugh...

    I'm still gonna watch it cause I always do every year. If they perform, awesome. If they don't, oh well, I still got their music in my pc. :p

    Guys, you're jumping to conclusions. It hasn't been confirmed that LP aren't playing. I'll say it for the last time that performers at the 2001 VMAs were added with one week left, Linkin Park included. Just because MTV.com has not announced it, and MTVEurope has, you can't be sure.

    Why would they show a commercial in Europe promoting the US VMA's? If I'm not mistaken, they have their own VMA's over there. I don't know exactly what the commercial was about so all of this is probably a waste of breath. :p
