Guys... this is the album leak reporting thread. Not the oh shit, torrent websites are closing down thread. All I wanna know is when something leaked. Start a new thread for discussion, please? :D

Actually it's the other way around, Demonoid blocks Canadian IP addresses from accessing the site, because they keep getting heat from the CRIA.

Anyone who posts links to or merely mentions another site besides OiNK will have their post deleted and will receive a warning. We're allowing OiNK discussion since it's all over the world news. And I guess Demonoid is OK since unless you've been living under a rock, you've heard of it. Any other sites will not be mentioned.

Okay, time to clear some things up.

Firstly, the users being investigated shit is just a scare tactic. It won't happen. Secondly, I doubt that OiNK will be down for long, as history likes to repeat itself [ie. this same thing has happened before with another site, not including TPB. Also, I think I saw it mentioned in this topic but incorrectly: OiNK is being accused of being a pay-access site, which is full of bullshit. This is only so the IFPI/BPI can get the actual police involved for whatever heavier charges. As we all know, this will never work, because it's rather obvious that registration is free, and donations are clearly optional.

Demonoid is hosted in Canada. The CRIA [basically the RIAA's base in Canada] threated to sue unless they blocked Canadian access.

    -edit-

Well, OiNK's admin got released from custody. TorrentFreak's been keeping up with it. The BBC report is just disgusting. I can't believe they could spread such false information.

Bah, all I uploaded were some LP shows, which are property of LP themselves, so I doubt they'd sue me :p

OiNK was without a doubt the best. I couldn't keep up my share ratio and had my account disabled a few months back, but it was an amazing site to use while I still had my account. Definitely the fastest.

Either way, this sucks all around.

If it wasn't for Todd forbidding us to name any other sites, I would tell you to name at least one of your 'better' sites.. There is no site better than OiNK -- it's nearly impossible to find a site that enforces it's rules, ratios and standards. It's hard to find a site with properly ripped FLAC, and no transcoded music. Oh, and let's not forget the insanely high seeder to leecher ratio.

This makes the torrent site i go to sound crap, at least you don't need to get a log in. I guess it still doesn't make up for the fact that half the torrents aren't active.

if your talking about pre times speeds then yea there pretty good but to be fair there are faster...less then a min..speeds are good as long as the person has a decent connection.

well you are right they do have a more well-rounded selection of music.if you like most of the rips not-"professional" done..but as far as i go i like my music ripped by the best...the scene. i can atleast trust "most" of theres.

but eitherway it was a great ste period for unknown artists and fans..
but i have heard rumors that it may possibly be back up soon..but thats only a rumor.

Did you not read what Tomi posted? OiNK had UNPRECEDENTED quality, because anything else was taken down. The rips are as professional as it gets, and that's why they always leak first and the best.

And speedwise, you can't get any better than what OiNK had. That's why I got banned, because so many people seed afterwards I couldn't get a kb in otherwise. :lo:

I hate to say it but I agree with a lot of people on the internet. Why the fuck was Oink and its servers etc, not hosted in Sweden or another country that doesn't have the same piracy laws that the UK and US do?

I feel everyone here would still be enjoying the OiNK if that was the case.
