I think an EP/mini album of remixes would be best, with a couple of previously unreleased songs to seal the deal... or is that asking for too much? :p

Well, I was thinking more than five or six tracks... :p Maybe they will chose to distribute something along those lines that way at some point, though. Then again Warner would probably want to cash in.

Warner will always inevitably want to cash in.
Im suprised they haven't tried to release the HTEP actually.

When is LPU 7 out anyway?

Thats like saying that every hiphop song has a rock-influence to it because they have the same drum-patterns. Nickelback's 'Rockstar' has a hiphop drum-pattern, but you're not going to tell me that that song has any hiphop influences to it

The drum beat for the first half of Valentine's Day could be old-school hip-hop influenced though, due to its simple nature and the lack of fills and cymbals, which mean it might as well be a loop... plus, you have piano and guitar hooks played over it at various points, like in old-school hip-hop.

It's not as if every different kind of simple drum beat could be called hip-hop infuenced... besides, Nickelback don't seem to have ever listened to anything outside of Bon Jovi and Pearl Jam.

They've covered Metallica :( They even had a double bass.

Anyway, my point was that not every rock song is influenced by a hiphop song. Its just the way that you make songs.

For the last time, even after the thread you made that was specifically closed, Meteora doesn't tell a story.

I think remixing Meteora would be overkill at this point, lets be realistic Meteora came out 4 years ago. I could see a remix to m2m working, but unfortunately i don't think they will. If we do see a mix-up album I'd put my money these new rumors with Lil Jon or Busta or whoever is gettin tossed around. I like the Roots idea though, whoever mentioned that.

I like my "big-ass post" style of posting.

I.. fixed that.. I feel like an idiot.

But, the WID remix was interesting, but I didn't like it too much.

That's an awesome idea, and someone posted on the preivious page about HHH and TLTGYA being the least well to remix, which I totally agree w/. So in short, if they didn't remix those two, it wouldn't exactly be a remix of the album, but it would still be a nice.

I've only been an LP fan for about a year, so a copy of the HTEP would be great, even if it's just a re-released, instead of crappily ripped copies you can download off random sites.

Ha ha, yeah, but if you've gotten a few different live versions of songs, it wouldn't be so much appreiciated, in my opinion at least, since I have around 10 hours of live audio from LP alone.

...LP's covered Metallica? Or are you talking about Nickleback?

    xD

I still stick with what I say about that. I SHALL FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT! *completly squished by others due to annoyance*

It would be strange to release a remix album of Meteora a few years after it's been released, but it'd still be nicer than all the fan remixes out here (especially since very few are any good).

As for a mash-up album, no. I don't think it'd be exactly my taste, and they probably wouldn't do much to combine the songs, as they did in Collision Course. So really, I don't think I'd like another mash-up album, even if LP's in it.

yeah, i see that MTM doesn't carry much of a theme musically. but there are things here and there that carry on between the songs -- just the way they structure the lyrics, the tones of the instruments and stuff ...
