This may be the wrong place to post this, but I just wanted to ask people's opinion on the subject.

Now, I have yet to read a poor review of QWERTY written by any LP fans, but I was wondering, what version was better, the original live version that was all over the internets, or the studio recording?

The live QWERTY had more prescence, the studio version felt kinda empty.

That said, I liked how the studio version was cut together for the most part (intro drum part was too long, shouldn't have taken out the prechorus), I liked how they made the chorus more energetic. The guitar (during the verses, not the intro) sounded a lot more badass live. The studio guitar intro sounded better, IMO.

I'm a huge fan of the live preformance. It has the energy that I don't see in the demo.

The live performance was wicked! I loved the drum pattern so much better in that one, and when I listen to the studio performance always reminds me they could have released the song on a CD, I love them both.

I prefer my live version of Qwerty from PR at Toronto this past summer. Its pretty much a combination of the studio version and the initial live rip of qwerty. I suggest you give it a listen if you haven't already ;)

The live version off LPU6 was kinda rough for me, but not bad, so I prefer the studio version.

The other live versions I've heard are rough as well, but still interesting.

And with what DigitalRosh said about the perchorus, I think that should have been there still in the studio recording, but that's the only thing I don't like about the studio version.

QFT. Honestly, I don't think QWERTY is a great song, but it just has so much energy to it live that you overlook its flaws.

Man... QWERTY brings back alot of memories (yeah i know it was only last year!) hearing a teeny tiny clip of it on youtube, i was like "OMFG! THIS IS LIKE THE BEST SONG EVER" and then i heard a the full lenght bootleg which did indeed "rock my internet socks off", then weeks later a Hi-Q version of it leaks and its like Christmas on the LPA!!!

Saying that, i really like the demo/studio version (The bridge kicks ass slowed down like that) but it just doesn't sound like the same song we all fell in love with last year & i couldn't help but think that it could have been so much better. Ah well.

I still don't understand how I originally found that clip of QWERTY. It was on a youtube page that was written entirely in Japanese.
Just extremely good luck I guess, for me and the rest of the LPA :p

I like the studio version better! The verses sounded more perfected and I like how the guitar was different in the chorus.

I Thought it was an awesome song live and in the studio, although i don't think it would have fitted on Minutes To Midnight. It would be great if they played it at every show, as it would become a fan favorite pretty fast.

i loved the live version, chesters screams seem so much better and also i loved the fact that they wrote it on the plane over and needed the lyrics up there on stage in japan

I prefer the version at the PR show I went to because it was the first time they played it in the US. :D
