But the thing is I think they talked about writing up materials for their third album in the midst of the Meteora singles being played (before singles such as From The Inside and Breaking The Habit released). Hopefully they sincerely mean it.

That's a good interview. I wonder how long it will be until they start working on the new record. I'm not worried, though. I can be patient.

For some reason, this ment a lot to me; probably because of the bit about the female fan who's been with them since the start. Either way, I got a good laugh out of hearing that they're not gonna lay around for a few years and take two years on an album. I must say, though, I don't mind time between records, but sooner is better than later.

We waited 4 years for MTM, and the wait wasn't that bad.

Speak for yourself. 4 years was too long :(

I hope they start working on the new album the way they did with Meteora, on the tour bus maybe during summer 2008. I really hope we can get an album by summer 2009, but thats just wishful thinking. Pretty sure we won't see new LP til 2010, thats when i graduate from friggin college, i hate the wait. When i finished minutes i was happy and upset, happy in the sense that i liked the record, and upset because i knew it would be 2-4 years til another lp record. Thats why i'm a huge fan of rap artists, they get new records out within 1.5 years.

Maybe that's the reason why everybody says rappers nowadays suck, quantity over quality? No mean to offend you but I was wondering why they take less time to produce records. I was thinking that pop and rap are mostly more minimalistic in sound. You just add some beats into it and a few other instruments and its done. Rock/Metal is just a tad little different.

I don't know, AFI were releasing records every 1-1.5 years back in the Black Sails and Art of Drowning eras, and those CDs were masterpieces...

    More Joe too.

And mike growling along with Chester. And yes, I know he can pull it off. Listen to Faint at this years KROQ Xmas. Mike's scream is fucking awesome in the second chorus (This part:"...I won't be ignored...")

I hope that they incorporate Joe a lot more, and make the record more hard rock then MTM. Soft songs can be great, but they are not LP's strong point, and having to many of them gets sort of boring. I hope that they have more hip-hop on this record.

Its great to know that they're thinking about the next record.

this is great, great news. More Joe would be awesome. I really would like hahn to have another solo song like cure for the itch or session again. Or just one heavy hahn song like With You :)

    Nice interview.
Well as long as they don't start redefining their sound again  we will get an album in 2010 I think.

I've always seen comparisons between a French Nu-metal band called Pleymo. In the band but also in the albums. For example: their first two albums had a lot of rap/metal but their third was much calmer. But their fourth was very rap/metal again so maybe LP will want to come back to their original sound (although it really seems they want to continue in their new way). Time will tell.

Here's what I want to see, and it will never happen.

    Chester: Guitar
    Mike: Keyboard/Guitar
    Brad: Guitar
    Phoenix: Guitar
    Rob: Drums
    Mr. Hahn: Overseer

Instrumental album for the win.
