Considering Julien-K are heavily associated with LP, particularly Chester, I thought this might be somewhat newsworthy:

2007 was just the beginning for Julien-K. The response we have received playing Projekt Revolution and The Open Door tour have been incredible. All of this response with NO record out. We seem to have achieved what we set out to achieve: to build a core fan base without radio, and all the trappings that go with it. It has been amazing to immediately see after every show, hundreds of fans sending us messages – talking about how (pleasantly) surprised they were by our performances each night. No one had any idea who we were. We had to win by actually being good. Now it seems JK fans have become somewhat viral. We see you everywhere. The FIRST fans. The core group.

We want to thank our fans in Europe for being so understanding and supportive regarding our canceling the Jan. tour with Linkin Park . We are equally thankful to Chester and the boys for totally having our backs, and being amazing friends in what was a tough choice for us. SO. We do have good things planned for the rest of the year. Very good things. We are, of course, planning to make up with our European fans ASAP, and we have a LOT more in store for the US (and the rest of the world) as well this year…

….Maybe a record?

Ugh, MAYBE a record? This year will make it 4 years since Julien-K got started. By the time they actually get their album out, all the Julien-K hype will have died down, nobody will care, and the album will flop. Mark my words.

I think we're just going to wait until there's a release date for the single and/or video and possibly a CD single tracklisting, just so we can take care of all the Given Up single information in one news post.

linkin park should have a higher spot tho

atleast better than korn, i havent seen them live personally except youtube videos and well to say the least i wasnt impressed lol

Chester explains a bit about Shadow Of The Day's lyrics. Seems we were right about it being about someone dead.

Also, at this point Chester didn't know they left the "Chester dying" end out. I think the video would have been a whole lot better if they kept it.

I remember Derek saying he knew something about this that the band was going to confirm in a week or something. It's been a long time now. What did you know Derek?

That was posted on one of the radio station websites that debuted the Shadow of the Day video back when it first came out. I forget which one it was...I wanna say Z100?

As Linkin Park prepares for its upcoming North American tour, frontman Chester Bennington is predicting a much shorter turnaround for the group's follow up to 2007's "Minutes to Midnight."

"We sparked a new kind of life into what we do during the writing of ['Midnight']," Bennington tells Billboard.com. "We want to keep that going. I think we're in the mode, and I have a good feeling we're going to put another record out really quickly."

Bennington says Linkin Park will be bringing gear on the road to capture ideas that come up on tour. Besides the North American jaunt with Coheed & Cambria and Chiodos that kicks off Feb. 12 in Omaha, Neb., the group is also planning to host another edition of its Projekt Revolution tour this summer; bands and dates are expected to be announced during the next couple of months.

"There was a long period of time between the release of 2003's 'Meteora' and 'Minutes to Midnight'," Bennington says. "Even though we did tour [for 'Meteora'] for two years, we didn't start working on writing ['Midnight'] until seven months after we stopped touring. So it seemed like a really, really long time to our fans and it seemed like a really, really long time to us. I don't see that happening again."

Bennington doesn't want to hazard a guess as to what Linkin Park's fourth studio album will sound like, however. "I never anticipate what we're gonna do," he explains. "I find that overplanning a creative project usually means you're gonna screw it up, so I really don't focus on what we're gonna do. When a song comes, I'll write it. When a song comes to Mike [Shinoda], he'll put an idea down. We just kind of roll with it spontaneously."

Meanwhile, Bennington says Linkin Park -- which just finished shooting a video for its next single, "Giving Up" -- is busy tweaking its production and repertoire for the upcoming dates.

"We're going to add some different production elements," he confirms. "We're working with some artists to develop some really cool video content -- the same ideas and elements from Projekt Revolution and kid of evolving those into a little bit bigger of a stage show. We don't like to do super crazy sh*t on stage; we just try to take very simple production elements and take them to their full potential. We like to have the focus of the show on the band rather than distract you with explosions and clowns and stuff jumping around on stage."

Plus, they say they'll play songs they've NEVER played before! I'm thinking Part of Me? Could be awesome.

Bennington said the new tour will feature a few songs the group has never played at a concert. "I'm not going to tell you which ones," he said, "but there are going to be some tracks we've never played before live, as well as bringing some of the good oldies back." Unlike a lot of bands that play the same songs every night, Linkin Park plans to change the set list. "Having so many songs now, we're definitely no longer in the position that we used to be in with 'Hybrid Theory' where we had virtually 40 minutes of material, and we were asked to play headline sets, and we didn't even have enough songs to fill one out," Shinoda said. "Now we've got all these songs, and we can kind of pick and choose, and fans want to hear different things at different times.

"It's a pleasure to be able to get on stage and switch up the set every night. Not only that, but for the U.S. tour, and this kind of goes out to the people that have come and seen us play on Projekt Revolution, the production will be different. The set will look different."
