So Now that is is available to be listened to online via MTV Leaks. (http://www.mtv.com/music/the_leak/panic_at_the_disco/pretty_odd/)

What are your thoughts on this album?

I personally love most of the tracks on it. and the ones that arent my favorite, I still like them.

    My Favorites

    Mad As Rabbits,
    That Green Gentlemen,
    Nine In The Afternoon,
Do You See What I'm Seeing?,
I Have Friends In Holy Spaces,
Folkin Around, (Idk but I Love This and Friends in holy spaces.)
When The Day Met The Night,
    Behind The Sea,
    Northern Downpour

I Loved their first album, and I am pleased with this album. But to me, the first one is still my favorite

Maybe I'll grow to this one. It's only been a few hours.

I'm on the edge with it. I really love a couple of the tracks but its almost too mellow. I do think their musicianship has improved and the vocals are better. I like their first album a lot more but this cd isnt terrible

My favorite track is "That Green Gentleman". With that said, I don't like this album. I appreciate that they are growing and expanding into something that's new for them, but it's not something that works for me. I prefer the upbeat "A Fever You Can't Sweat Out" album over this one. It's just too boring to listen to. *shrug*

I've listened to little bits of it.

Both albums are quite good without me liking either a massive amount. yes my opinion has changed :p

    So far I'm impressed.

I'll see how the rest of the album plans out, but I so far can give it a thumbs up.

Now that I've heard the better quality, it seems a bit less mellow. It's a very catchy album (not as catchy as their first but not very many albums are) and the melodies are great. It's really grown on me.

I love this album... it is very beatles-like but of 2008. It's my new favorite new album!!! I have yet to pick a favorite song because they are all exceptional! I like it better than their debut album.

It's a really good album, I think. Maybe a little bit repetitive.

A bit too mellow, the mellow tracks are good but there's so many of them. I hope they have a more balanced style for their 3rd album.

As much as I do like this album, it is sacrilege to compare them to the Beatles.

All in all, good album, but no Beatles

It may be no Beatles but if this exact album was released at the time of the Beatles or even 20-30 years ago, it would be remembered as a defining soundtrack for that decade.

I think Rolling Stone's description of this album was perfect: It's the best album of 1971. And maybe even 2008.

Well PATD ARE very influenced by the classical sort of setting. Even "A Fever" was that 50's sort of theme.

They DID say that "The Beatles" were a HUGE influence for this album. and I get a Classical feeling from it. But not necessarily a "Remake of the old days" sort of feeling. More of a "It's using popular ideas that would have been from back then"

It feels "new" to me. So I Love it.

All the older fans (as in, all the old people in general) who've heard the album (Rolling Stone and Blender from what I've read so far) have complained they didn't so much borrow ideas and elements from Beatles albums, but they completely ripped them off and stole them.

But since I hate The Beatles with a passion, I wouldn't really know.

I read that also but I do like The Beatles..people have said some songs have certain aspects of some particular Beatles's song and i listened to it and compared and i could NOT find anything linking the songs except the feeling you get from it.

musically Maybe there is a similar part but I can't notice it. and if thats what they are bitching about..Oh well.

To be honest, everyone in some form or fashion steals/borrows ideas and elements from the Beatles. Who wouldn't? They were arguably the biggest band in the world.
