In a headline that is not directly related to the band Linkin Park themselves, but yet humorous enough to be posted here; ABC News Australia reveals what happens when a Horse Trainer picks an odd but unique name for his horse, and then inadvertently passes on an anti-inflammatory drug to the horse he is training:

"Map: Darwin 0800 The Territory’s chairman of racing stewards says the case of a local galloper which tested positive to the same drug taken by its trainer should serve as a warning to the industry.

Shane Clarke was last night found guilty of taking a horse to the racecourse with a prohibited drug in its system, but escaped without suspension.

Clarke’s Linkin Park tested positive to the human anti-inflammatory drug Naproxen after winning a race at Fannie Bay in March.

Clarke told a stewards inquiry he has taken a Naproxen based drug for more than 20 years and that it probably entered the system through the horse’s mouth while he was applying a commonly used tongue tie before the race.

Chairman of stewards Lindsay Lane says while Clarke escaped without suspension, the case still sends a message to all trainers.

“Inadvertent contamination of their horses can happen through means such as this, so whatever medication they or their staff could be using or any products that they’re using, they need to be extremely cautious to ensure that contamination of their horses doesn’t occur.”

Clarke can continue preparing runners for the Darwin Cup Carnival."

Looks like this gives a whole new meaning to the phrase 'sex, drugs and rock and roll', doesn't it? Word of advice: Don't name a horse after your favorite band. The results are never pretty.

Thanks to Mike Shinoda @ www.mikeshinoda.com, and Gitsnik of our forums for the news!

I think this is one of the funniest things I've ever heard about. It's too bad this didn't happen around April Fool's Day, because you could've pretended that you had an exclusive video interview with Mike or something about drug use and then turned the video into a story about the horse.

When I first saw that headline in Mike's blog, my eyes were all over that article so I didn't really stop to read it from to bottom at first, so I didn't really understand it. I realised, pretty fast, that it wasn't exactly what i'd assumed from the headline.

Evidently it's not only a slow year for news but a slow year for humour as well.

Random: Do you like Linkin Park?
Trainer: Yep, it's a fine breed.
Random: Indeed, a mix of Rock, Hip Hop and Electronica etc.
Trainer: Hmm, which Linkin Park are we talking about?

When I 1st saw the headline, I was actually kinda shocked at 1st but then thought, this must be something else. I'm glad I was right when I read the article. I'm sure the band got a big laugh out of this when they heard about it, lol! XD
