Metallica's New Album Title Revealed To be honest I think it's a bit of a lame title but nevertheless I'm interested to hear what the album sounds like. Surely anything they come up with can't be as bad as St Anger...
If this albums sucks they should just split up or, even better, someone should go back in time to 1997 and cause them to split up then, maybe releasing the good songs off St Anger as an EP. Then maybe the trouble they get into for trying to call it an EP, when it's too short, will ruin them. That's probably about as generous as it gets when it comes to their work after black/self-titled.
I agree, it's a rather shite title. To be honest, I don't really like much of what Metallica's released since And Justice For All... I'd be stoked if they recorded something along the lines of that or Kill 'Em All, but I know it won't happen. Oh well, Trivium can just release it for them.
The band posted a 10-15 second clip on their website along with the album title, and the riff sounds very much like it belongs on Master of Puppets or ...And Justice For All. There are elements of St. Anger that I liked, but there's a lot that I did not like. Everything else they've done has been pretty cool. So I have hope.
If St. Anger hadn't had that annoying snare sound and wasn't devoid of Kirk's lead work, it wouldn't be THAT bad of an album. But yeah...looking forward to this album, hoping it'll be a return to form for them. But of course, since it's Metallica we're talking about, I won't be paying for the album.
If it's anything like AJFA or Master, it will be very good. Those are easily two of the best albums in metal.
I also thinkt the album title is a bit lame. But hey, give them credit for being different. Death Magnetic is something I would have never thought of. As for what the album sounds like, from what I've heard so far sound awesome. If no one has heard it yet, here's some. http://youtube.com/watch?v=NYaG5U9a9E0
I was thinking more on the lines that death really is magnetic. Everyone dies, can't get away from it and death lurks around ever second of life.
The early impressions of the album given by the British press actually sound somewhat promising. Apparently, it's kind of an amalgam of all their albums up to The Black Album. Doesn't mean it won't suck, but yeah. And yes, that is a lame album title.
That's good news at least. I didn't really like The Black Album, to be honest, so to hear that really perks my interest in this album again. In my opinion I think the best thing for Metallica musically would be to bring back Dave Mustaine, but I know there's no chance in hell that would happen. Ever.
