UPDATE: So it appears there's conflicting reports about exactly which Linkin Park song will be in Guitar Hero World Tour:

According to an article in Stuff Magazine, Linkin Park's "In The End" was tapped to be featured in the upcoming video game.

But IGN (the far more credible source of the two) said in an article today that "What I've Done" will be on the game's setlist.

Using common sense tells us to believe IGN because of the source itself and the fact that in comparison to the setlists of previous Guitar Hero games, "In The End" would easily have one of the simplest main guitar riffs of any song ever included in the series. "What I've Done" seems more plausible.

The game is due out in October.

    Source: Joystiq and IGN.

Thanks to The One And Only... for the heads up on the IGN article!

Good song, bad guitar hero option.

I want to see Muse, though.

Oh hell yes, Muse. KOC was hands-down my favourite song to play on GH3, so this game should be epic with the right songs.

"In The End" and "One Step Closer" were literally the worst case scenarios for these games. Shameful.

Acctually Stuff magazine "maybe" wrong. IGN has an interview thing and it says that the Linkin Park track is "what I've done"

IGN:Though not featured as OZZFest bands, IGN has been told an additional seven tracks that will be included on the Guitar Hero World Tour set list. Those are:

Airbourne – "Too Much Too young…"
At the Drive-in – "One Armed Scissor"
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club – "Weapon of Choice"
    Bob Seger – "Hollywood Nights"
Dinosaur Jr. – "Feel the pain"
    Silversun Pickups – "Lazy Eye"
Survivor – "Eye of the Tiger"

If you're keeping track, this brings the total number of confirmed songs to 23 to date. The previously announced songs are:

    Billy Idol – "Rebel Yell"
    Blink 182 – "Dammit"
    Foo Fighters – "Everlong"
Jimi Hendrix – "Purple Haze Live"
Jimi Hendrix – "Wind Cries Mary"
Linkin Park – "What I've Done"
    Paramore – "Misery Business"
    Sublime – "Santeria"
The Doors – "Love Me Two times"
    The Eagles – "Hotel California"
Van Halen – "Hot for Teacher"

Hmmm who to Believe, Stuff magazine or IGN? hmmm hopefully it be WID because that is what ive been wanting since they announce LP would be in it. so maybe with Stuff's magazine saying "If we have to" makes it false?

I'm so excited that At the Drive In is going to be on the playlist. That should be rad. Linkin Park being on the game should be awesome publicity for them as well, so this is good news all around...

Shacknews is gaming website and they have a list of "confirmed" GH:WT songs and both In The End and What I've Done are listed... maybe we'll get both? that'd be awesome. Maybe GH:WT is doing something like "first and latest" tracks type of thing?

Who's to say both tracks don't make it into the game? Not many artists get multiple songs in the game, but it isn't unheard of. Jimi Hendrix has 2 tracks in GHWT, so its possible.

Nah, One Step Closer is FAAAR more guitar game worthy than In The End. Don't put them in the same box. Numb and In The End would be even worse.

well i suppose they chose in the end for bein one of the most well-known lp songs there is, probably THE most famous! i mean hell i think alota other songs would've been better to pick, but it's not that bad a decision ..

I see what you're saying about the riff, but these are full band games. OSC is going to suck on vocals, not because of difficulty, but just because it's just such an angsty song.

...has GH ever been released for the PC? o_O I'm not too sure, I should check on that one...

Yeah, well, OSC would basically suck because of the screaming. There are 13 or 14 year old kids who play the game, and they can't scream (I don't think MOST people can scream, though...).

I don't mind In the End too much, seeing as it's one of my favourites, and it would be a disappointment to see something from MTM in Guitar Hero. Don't get me wrong, I definitely like MTM, but it's just that it's not...I dunno, Rock enough? (I know it's basically Alternative Rock but I just don't think it's fit for GH) They should put something like Papercut or Lying from You.

I think I've already mentioned this; that's the same principle as saying that the game shouldn't have songs by bands like Faith No More and Soundgarden and Iron Maiden because not many people can sing as well as their vocalists. It's not hard to get around even if you don't cheat.
