    Word.

I was listening to him speak, and he sounds pretty ridiculous. Plus I hate how he has so much attention. Not worth listening to.

I just came back from voting! I feel so liberated!

I waited in line for probably 25 minutes. It's amazing how many old faces you see while standing in line. I saw my old high school Marketing teacher, a few classmates and three former co-workers of mine. That was nice.

Anyway, I hope Obama wins. <3

He's some random-ass jackass who questioned Obama's tax plans. Obama explained his tax plans to him, and "Joe the Plumber" (because his name is Joe and he's a plumber — go figure) decided he didn't like those tax plans.

The Republican Party recruited Joe to be their "spokesperson," because "Joe the Plumber" represents the "average American," even though he's got his own business and makes well over $200,000 per year.

Obama's tax plan is straightforward: Corporations are no longer getting huge tax breaks, while people who need tax breaks (i.e. single-parent families, families making less than $30,000 a year, etc.) are going to get those tax breaks. It's perfectly fair, unless you're a greedy Republican asshole.

Joe the plumber is a gimmick.
Worried about a fictional business that he doesn't have.
In fact he would benefit more from Obama's plan than McCains.
    Then he calls Obama Socialist...
All in all, he's a guy that the Republican Party used to spread a message that Obama will raise America's taxes. When infact 95% of working americans will get taxcuts. So Joe the Plumber is just Joe-a-dumbo-ahole. In my opinon anyway.

joe is to me, just a ploy for the McCain campaign to try to squeeze out some extra votes. personally if McCain wins, i don't know what i will do. i don't trust him and his judgement.

I'm amazed people have to queue to vote. I mean I've voted 6 times since turning 18 (presidential and other things) but I don't even think I took me over 20 minutes in total. Aren't there enough voting centers or is that due to all the questions you have to answer to?

I think I'll stay up until 1am to see the first results.

Kind of like how Sarah Palin is nothing but a ploy for the McCain campaign to get the female vote because Obama didn't pick Hillary Clinton as his VP.

Holy crap. Is everyone just shaking out the last of their political rhetoric for a fresh start tomorrow or what? :p

Anyway, I voted this morning with no lines. Apathetic California FTW!

This is exactly the kind of musing that upsets people. Why is there a need to call the guy a name? He has every right to question the tax plan of the candidates. It just so happens it was Obama there instead of McCain.

And you two should get your story straight before ranting. :p

Back now. I feel so relieved that I actually did my part to try and change something in the world. It feels good not to be completely helpless anymore.

I haven't gone to vote yet, need to wait until after my husband gets home tonight, so he can watch our son.

I am also going to take my seven year old daughter with me. I want her to see what voting is, she is really curious about it.

When Obama wins tonight, that will be one of the hopefully many great historical events that my children get to see happen in their life time.

I don't know why he said he doesn't have a business, but "Joe the Plumber" doesn't like Obama's tax plan because he's starting his own business (or already started) and is going to be making more than $200-250,000 a year, and he doesn't want to be taxed more, because he's greedy. I understand the whole, "Hey, it's my money, I'm making it myself, why should I be taxed more?" But if you're going to start a business, you should know things like that should happen, because it's not fair that businesses (larger ones) and corporations get tax breaks when my family struggles through an entire year because of taxes.
