Um ... you know that wallpaper that shows up on a computer when explorer.exe isn't active? The one that shows a split second before you login and stuff on Windows XP? (Don't know if it happens on any other OS's) -- Does anyone know how to change that secondary background?
It's not what you're thinking. It's the logon screen settings. I can't tell you exactly because I'm on Vista, but it has a bunch of options to copy over the font/wallpaper/screensaver/etc.
i think they call that screen a "splash screen" you can change that with some programs, i don't know if they are free or not. you can dig around on the net found out to mess with without using program
OH! I completely misread what you were saying. I thought I read that you wanted to change the wallpaper on the login screen. My bad. If you mean the loading screen before you log in, with the XP logo, progress bar and all, that's called the boot screen.
For me, it's, like, a wallpaper that appears for a second before the login window appears, and appears when you log out or switch user or whatever -- as if it's a wallpaper behind my desktop wallpaper. It's always a wallpaper I used previously, but what makes it change, I have no idea.
I downloaded Tweak UI the other day (for other purposes) and there isn't anything in its options about changing the screen he's talking about changing, nor is there anything in its options about changing any wallpapers at all.
Simple work around: Set current background to what he wants, use Tweak UI, then revert your old background. *shrug* Bit of a pain in the ass, but works for me.
Exactly. Unless you want to go fudging around in the registry to figure out which entry it is, or actually find a program that does it. Although, if anyone finds which registry entry it is, I could quickly whip up a program to easily change it.
