A Brazilian based band that I discovered this week, play music of the like I have never heard before. Fusing jazz, classical, and ethnic music of South America. Now it might be "out of place" on this board, but I felt I had to share it and maybe someone would check it out and enjoy it! If you do listen, please open your ears and be open to their musical vision! Here are some YouTube clips you should check out: Pedra Vermelha: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvj2CzV2LqQ Preto Velho: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kiefSQBva0g Their official website: http://www.itibereorquestrafamilia.com.br/indexeng.htm Their bio written by Itibere, which has some English problems but overall is very informative:
Glad you like them!! As for the solos, check out the second tune...these guys are obviously great jazz improvisers as well! I can't believe music like this isn't more well known!
Yeah usually bands this good are pretty popular in an underground sort of way. But i guess jazz hasn't been popular at all for a long time now.
