Don't know if this has been posted yet but I do like this excerpt from it about the next record:

"It's not going to be 'Hybrid Theory,' " Shinoda reports. "It's not going to be 'Minutes to Midnight.' And if we do it right, it'll have a cutting edge sound that defines itself as an individual record separate from anything else that's out there." He acknowledges that the rap element that was not a major part of "Minutes to Midnight" may be more prominent this time out, too. "I think I have some of the Fort Minor (his rap side project) energy in me that wants to come out, so you'll probably hear more rapping on it," Shinoda says. "I don't know if it'll be a little or a lot, but I now I've been sitting down writing a lot of verses, so there's a better chance of those making it on the record."

Definitely hoping to hear more raps on the next record. Can't wait for it to come out.

 

The only options left are Meteora or Reanimation. Or maybe another "Live in...".

 

in all honesty, we need a nice combo of all 3 'main' genres on the next album. we have fort minor for those who love the rap side of linkin park, we'll have dead by sunrise for the rock side of linkin park and it's fans, and hopefully joe releases an electronicish cd someday down the line with maybe cameos from the band. Either way, I can't wait for all this linkin park and related music. Fingers crossed for a brad/rob/phoenix country album, PLEASE!.......

 

An interesting piece of information on the DBS album again: On twitter, entraik asked: "@ChesterBe about how many tracks are gonna be on the DBS album?" And Chester said: "@entraik 10"

So, ten tracks on the album. I'm a little disappointed actually, but if he delivers some 5 minute-pieces or something, I will be satisfied

 

I find that disappointing because we already know 7 of the song titles on his album and we've heard 4 of them in some form.

But some of my favorite albums have as few as 8 songs on them, so it may not necessarily be a bad thing. Of the 4 songs we've heard, My Suffering is the only one that's under 3 and a half minutes.
