Yeah thread needs more Sweden. Less boring Australian music.

Opeth (Etc. Metal - new genre i made)
    pg.lost (post-rock)
    Ef (post-rock)
    Refused (hardcore/post-hardcore)

Then there's a shit ton of Melodic Death Metal bands you might like, like the aforementioned In Flames, as well as At The Gates and Dark Tranquility among others. I feel liking i'm forgetting a lot of bands.

We should have a post-rock megathread. But yeah, here are some videos from my favourite non-us post-rock bands:

God Is An Astronaut (ireland) - New Years End

Laura (Australia) - We Are Mapping Your Dreams

Mono (Japan) - Follow The Map

The Samuel Jackson Five (Norway) - Skinflick Dress Rehearsal

Sleepmakeswaves (Australia) - One Day You Will Teach Me To Let Go Of My Fears

65daysofstatic (UK) - Drove Through Ghosts To Get Here

And then there's Sigur Ros, Mogwai etc.

I remember the first time I've discovered it I was completely struck by the band to the point of telling my older sister about a rock band using just cellos. She's into classical music btw.
