Anybody who's very familiar with Muse can attest to this. The band goes from hard rocking to piano to synths back to heavy riffs all in 4 minutes. Their songs are at times all over the place, and thus why you can't figure out the ending from the beginning. Listen to the first 30 seconds of "New Born", or tune in to "Butterflies and Hurricanes" during the piano breakdown. These are large departures from the overall sound of the songs. I think this will be one of the albums you listen from start to finish in order and really hear the connection and enjoy once you grasp its entirety. I listened to the clips once and will not again until the full thing leaks. But to banish the album based on 30 second clips is whoever's loss.
On top of that, you really have to relisten to Muse songs to interpret the amount of work and soul put into them, there's always something new I discover when I pay really close attention to each part of the song.
I know I wouldn't normally, it just that every single clip has that Queen influence that puts me off. Except Uprising.
I don't wanna make comments without listening again, cos I've only listened once. But it's just a feeling I get from all the songs, that over-the-top operatic thing. But daggy. Normally I love his vocals, so I dunno that it's that...
I think it's just the manner in which the backing vocals are layered. That's what makes a few songs sound like Queen.
And since when was sounding like Queen a bad thing? Queen were one of the greatest acts of the 20th century.
Well that's a matter of opinion lol. Personally, theyre like the musically representation of wanking... No offence anyway. I see why theyre so popular in a way, but yeah... No thanks.
Bohemian Rhapsody was that song where, you think it's the greatest thing ever the first time you hear it. But then after hearing it two billion whatever times at the top of best ever song charts, you hate Queen and everything associated with them forever .
I'm not getting so much a Queen influence as I'm getting a 70s/80s experimental rock feel. This album is likely going to be a lot bigger than what we imagine. I'm so psyched.

just read that the guy who uploaded the resistance song has the whole album and it will be up in the next 24 hours ( here's hoping ) but couldn't put it up straight away cause he had to go to uni. I'll believe it when i see it though. Bring it on and well done to everyone involved for not letting it leak i personally haven't seen an album not leak this close to a release date .
Holy crap, Unnatural Selection is incredible. Sounds like the Muse we know. Tracks 1-6 have leaked btw.
