To me, yeah, an electronica-based sound is exactly what they need after "Minutes To Midnight". They wanted a departure from how they sounded on "Meteora" making that album with Rick Rubin ... and, now, they're working with him again to get away from how they sounded on the last album. A heavier dose of electronics would be the way to go, in my opinion. :)

I love SSPU but I don't know if the band could pull off a sound like that. I'd love to hear something along the lines of "Panic Switch" though.

I'd love to hear something like Mike did to the Leave Out All The Rest remix.

I would love to hear LP with an electronic sound. In all honesty, I LOVE LOVE LOVED Reanimation. I would like to hear 1st generation songs with that type of feel minus all the cameos.

Minutes to Midnight had too many ballads and that in its self separated it from the the rest of their cd's. I personally like the ballads but they over did it. The next cd needs a rougher edge. Throw in a few ballads (1 or 3) and keep the rest with a rougher rock/hip-hop/electrona feel. Lets face it, we need more Hahn!!!

I pray that this is where they are going!

    Agree?:shifty:

agreeeeeddd. More than any specific "type" of sound on this next record, moreso i would want LP to show real maturity in song writing/structure/ and just downright ability in instrumentation. There are hints of it in m2m with songs like little things, and in pieces...and ironically in pieces is probably one of the more "musey" type songs they've written imo. If i remember correctly in an interview awhile back, chester mentioned he enjoys listening to muse as well, always a plus. Plus did anybody watch Muse at the VMA's? They absolutely kicked ass....i want LP to do that again, with some serious edgy monster riff action :)

Most bands that try to sound like Nine Inch Nails end up failing pretty bad, though i think Linkin Park would go alright taking a more, hopefully darker, electronic direction.

haha, NIN weren't part of that statement, but if they could pull that off it'd be pretty amazing .

Think the new album will be released before May 2010?

In my opinion; not likely. I suspect a summer release of the album.

And by summer, you of course mean September right? The actual month that's supposed to be part of fall. :p
