Lyrics are pretty damn awful but it's probably the best song out of the four released so far. That said 2:18 is ridiculously short for a song.

i agree with most of you, best song so far.

but one thing about hybrid theory's lyrics being more credible than DBS's now.
chester was 23 and at this age you still got these feelings and fears he and mike described on that album. taking in consideration that certain songs were 2 or more years older it definitely fits.

dont believe me? well, take a look at the serious chat "want something to let out" whining on these boards and look up people ages. ;)

Like most of you I agree the lyrics sound rushed...like he had the songs instrumental written and he had the vocal melodies in mind and just wanted to get it recorded so he made up the words really quickly.

That said, this so far is my favorite song because the chorus has a good vocal melody. Its a catchy chorus melodically. The song is so short though...

Man you guys are harsh! I thought this was the best dead by sunrise song so far. There were a lot of good headbanging parts.

    Another swing and miss.

I suppose that most listeners were expecting something much more stellar based upon Chester's work outside of Linkin Park. For instance, his vocals in Young Buck's 'Slow Ya Roll', or HBMS's 'Rock n Roll (could never Hip Hop Like This) pt.2' easily displays a style of which features much more depth; the passion that could be felt.

Furthermore, Chester showcased DBS with a performance of 'Let Down' back in 2005? And continued to do so with 'Walking In Circles', and 'My Suffering'. I suppose it was a misrepresentation of what a majority of the tracks were to be.

On a positive note, atleast there will be two tracks off the album of which I'll most definitely enjoy (unless 'Let Down' and 'Walking In Circles' are mutilated..) and hey, Out of Ashes will make me appreciate Minutes to Midnight that much more. Despite all of this, I'm an avid supporter of the members of Linkin Park, and Chester Bennington is the frickin' man!So as a result, I'll be picking up the album regardless, otherwise...meh.

i strongly agree with u. Im tellin u..if they play this song live it will be headbanging material. Chester's vocals are amazing and the instruments are so perfect. I like "Crawl Back In", "Fire", and "My Suffering" but ive fallen in love with this song.

I hate to join the negative parade, but seriously, these songs are not impressive at all. They feel like what I would have expected from some unreleased songs Chester recorded 14 years ago or something...

He really can sing, but these songs don't push him at all.

I was 13 when HT came out... and I enjoyed the angst... but I'm 22 now and it just doesn't work for me anymore. On top of that, it really doesn't feel like genuine angst... just typical, easy to write lyrics.

I don't know why everyone keeps bitching about the wack lyrics. These songs were written pre-MTM, back when LP's lyrics in general were pretty wack.

That said, I thought the song was okay. My Suffering is still the best outta the bunch.

Love it but it is way too short. Does sound like something that will get a lot of radio play. Is this going to be a single? If so, it might be the shortest single ever. idk but I do like it. But it only left me wanting more of the song.

Maybe he can't use the teenage angst lyrics anymore, but let us be reminded, maybe these are some of the divorce driven lyrics? Can a whole lot of people on these forums relate to a divorce? Other than that I like it.

I think I remember seeing somewhere Chester said he redid the songs over and over again since 06. Whether he just meant they sound different than they did or he went and rewrote a lot of the songs, I'm not sure, but he has said that the Dead By Sunrise album he made in 2006 sounds far different than the Dead By Sunrise cd he's releasing now.

Song is way to short. Another one that makes me say "wtf is this the best he can do?"..He had alot of time for this.. He couldnt write some good lyrics for this. Idk man its starting to look very grim again. My Suffering is the best one so far IMO..then Fire...but this one and Crawl Back In....not impressive to say the least..COME ON MAN!

I think he was referring to the sound. Like adding more melody and stuff like that. Don't think he retouched the lyrics, or else it would have shown, because he has grown a lot as a lyricist over the process of writing Minutes. Most of the lyrics I've seen from DBS screams pre-MTM.

yes i agree..the song is too short like Bleed it Out pretty much and ive fallen in love with the chorus. His voice is like PERFECT with Ryans and/or Amir's guitars....to be honest, idk whos guitars these are cuz those 2 and Chester all do guitars in the band lol. But nevertheless, the song pretty much is amazing and is definetly worthy of turning up the volume so much more.

I don't like it so saying that it's too short wouldn't make sense since I didn't like 30 seconds of it. haha.

I was under the impression Shinoda wrote most of the lyrics. I mean I know he writes stuff, I for whatever reason just assumed Mike was LP's main lyricist.
