The World's Most Important 6-sec Drum Loop

This is the Amen Break. You've probably never heard of it, yet have listened to it hundreds of thousands of times. Here it is, and a history:

Yeah I learnt about the Amen Break a few years ago. It's actually amazing to think how many songs have spawned as a result of a simple six-second drum loop.

I just find it so weird that the Amen Break is responsable for drum n bass.

 

the first bar of the amen break is also in like every second linkin park song.

 

What an interesting story...I get the feeling I'm going to notice it everywhere though now

 

Every weekend, I play a game where I turn on this breakbeat station, and try to see how many songs I can hear that feature the Amen break. Usually, it's 4 out of every 10 songs.

Also, I'm pretty sure that if you listen to The Perfect Drug, there's a variant of the break in there.
