I'm surprised at the lack of buzz on their upcoming record here. The album is self-titled and comes out on May 25, 2010, and it's their first since Shangri-La Dee Da which came out in 2001. Some critics are really hyping the album. Such phrases have been tossed around as "the rock record of the decade" and "a masterpiece that will officially solidify STP alongside the Beatles, Led Zeppelin and the Rolling Stones as one of the greatest rock 'n' roll bands of all time". 1. I've heard a number of these songs live. I must admit that the Between The Lines single is kinda catchy, but all in all it's just the same stone temple pilots sound a decade after they made it big. Definitely not gonna live up to that kind of hype.
